@isariamkia: like @MAXTHUNDER99 said, installing a game is faster to load assets from the HDD than stream it from disc. Also it helps keep disc drive noise to a minimum.

@MAXTHUNDER99: Yeah, I'm excited about the 4.50 firmware. I have a PSVR and look forward to checking out 3D movies. I've been playing Resident Evil 7 and most recently Dirt Rally in VR and they are both excellent!

@jumpaction: if they don't require an additional install then I can see the benefit. Carrying around and swapping tiny little cards that have a game on it wouldn't be too bad I guess. It seems then it would be better to actually buy physical copies of the games then get them digitally. Which I guess is fine, but just a lot different than where the rest of the industry is going with promoting digital buying.

@xxmavr1kxx: Yeah, that's a fair point. Still, some external USB 3.0 drives are pretty small. The one I have for my XB1 fits in the palm of my hand.

@jumpaction: oh yeah, I feel ya. Destiny is 100+ GBs with all the DLC. I decided to go mostly digital this gen because 1) I don't trade in games 2) with all games requiring an install I don't want to be bothered with swapping discs just to verify I own the game.

Still, I sometimes buy physical copies if I find something on sale that really interests me. I'm just glad Sony & MS support external USB 3.0 drives.

@jumpaction: I never said they were profiting from it. It's just a typical stupid Nintendo decision. High capacity SD cards are much more expensive than traditional HDDs. All they had to do was add a USB 3.0 port and poof, no problem adding TBs of storage for very little cost.

@isariamkia: what's your point? I'm 90% digital this gen and you know what... Sony and MS both give me plenty of space to have mutlpilte Full HD games installed :-p

Hey, it's 2017... Here's a paltry 32GB of memory included with the system. Forget that most phones have double or triple this storage. Nintendo = nickel & dime

Soo is that diplomatic speak for "the Switch isn't powerful enough to handle our game or we'd do it", lol

FFS, Here we go again with an article regurgitating Phil's tweets. I at least applaud you for consolidating all the tweets into 1 article this time. Here's an idea though, why don't you just embed a stream of Phil's Twitter account on your site... That'd save you some time eh?
