C'mon! If you needed that bit of info. to feel good about your PS3, you have problems. Didn't you know all of this before buying. Isn't this why we all have bought it?

In the end their both American football games ... they will be preety simaliar so i think Madden will win in sales due to brand name ...

Yet 2k8 will be the better game ... choasgod
I don't think that anyone who calls it "American Football" should be posting any opinion on this subject. You're obviosly not American and probably not even an "American football" fan. When we discuss the next World Cup, we'll let you know.

For many years now I have been a straight EA sports game player.  Nothing else.  When the first 2K football came out, I thought it was trash.  The flow of play is way different and left much to be desired.  Yes, they were smart on pricing.  And, yes, some guys were into it because of some of the differences.  I thought it was crap.  ANd I thought all releases since have been crap wanna-be's.

Now Madden has the NFL on lock-down.  They have sole rights to player names and such. I know its just names but that's half of the fun.  Its fun pretending that your in the league.  Isn't that why we play these games, to pretend, to escape?  College football annoys me the same way.  Until the NFL works with 2K, I have no interest in 2K.

EA will step up.  There's a reason the NFL went to straight Madden.  Its because EA created today's football video game.  They were the pioneers of this thing.  Sometimes they fall, yes they certainly do.  But they always get back up.  I remember the first EA games on PS1 and PS2.  They were far below what they later created for those systems.  They'll figure the new technology out and, BAM, you got yourself a kickass game.

He's right. GTA has been very secretive. i just hope they add something to it to make it different. Don't get me wrong GTA has been great all the way through but I felt like all we got from release to release was better graphics and a new city.

I have personally tried uncompressed audio on a blu-ray movie through optical.  It doesn't work.  Well, it does but it is not the full srround sound.  DTs or Dol by digital sound far better.  Why is this?  I don't know.  is it the capacity of optical?  I don't know.

All I know is that it doesn't.  Try it yourself.

Get an Onkyo receiver.  I think right now they have a 5.1 or 7.1 (can't remember), all-inclusive, theater system, with two HDMi ins and one HDMI out, for only $600.  Can't get better than that.

But unless you have a 1080p HDTV, I wouldn't go too crazy on the HDMI.

Does anyone know how to accept a friend invite?  I sent one to a buddy and got the message.  But he tells me that nowhere in the message does it have a link to accept the invite.  How does he do it?

I know this is an elementary question.  I have dealt witht the friend aspect of the PS3 at all.  Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm no bluetooth expert, by any means, but I think you need to totally reset your device before syncing with the PS3.  I know when i use my headset with my phone and I want to switch phones, i have to completely reset the device.

With that said, i have tried it out on the PS3 myself.  i was able to sync the device and have it picked up by the PS3.  But all i got in my earpiece was static.  So, I'm guessing my brand is not compatible.  I'm going to search for the list, If I find it, I'll post it here.

Here are my reasons in no particular order:

5.  HD.  I have a HDTV and wanted a system that would be able to maximize HD output as much as possible.  That can't happen with the 360.

4. Cell technology.  Though this is unproven, I feel that with time this resource be will be huge for PS3 and game developers.

3. Next-gen gaming.  I have to have the best possible graphics on a console I can get.  It was either 360 or PS3, you know the rest.

2. Blu-ray.  this pulls in #5 and some of #3.  I want the best quality HD product.  With Blu-ray's current capacity, there's no way HD-DVD can keep up.

1. Prior experiences wth PS1 and PS2.  I have really enjoyed both prior systems.  I feel that Sony sets the mark in gaming.  Why not play with the best?

1.5 The ability to change or install new operating systems on the PS3.  If Sony uses this right, they could make great changes to the current OS.  I sure hope they do.

Some other posts here have missed the mark, I think.  I personally see no advantage in being able to play PS1 or PS2 games.  Once I've seen what the PS3 games look like, I can't go backwards.  plus, the games don;t look very good.
