i miss the old gs reviewing staff with gerstramm, kasavin and navarro, i just felt i could trust the reviews that they wrote were 100% them and not influenced by cnet. anyway i'm not saying that gamespot is corrupt (although i probably am implying it), it's just seems from my experience that hyped games everyone buys automatically get a 9.0 where as the ones that aren't advertised as much get an 8.5. for the record i wont be buying battlefield or cod for that matter, it's just an observation.
old by far, it actually challenged reviewers and was divided into different categories making it more 'accurate.' thats not to say the new system is bad, its just more mickey mouse-ish and definately has caused system wars to be a lot less interesting than what it used to be, the TP review reactions were priceless as well as the kill zone 1 reactions, also i remember the days when a perfect 10 actually meant something, since then we've had what... like 4 new perfect 10s ? all because the reviewer couldnt give a 9.6-9.9?
I felt lost this year as I played little to any games this year, (still waiting on half life ep. 3 though) but yeah demon souls felt like gamespot picked for the sake of differentiating itself from the rest of the pack, simply from listening to other people and reviews I suppose uncharted or dragon age should have won but oh well, in the end none of this matters, they're all amazing games.
So basically Barcelona moves on since they had the only away goal, absolutely ridiculous game with 2 amazing goals, chelsea dominated most of the game and even got a fortunate red card on barcelona's part although got royally screwed over at the end with some really controvercial decisions by the ref and eventually in injury time conceded a goal, here are the highlights if your interested
