Well I just got my MSI R4850 in a couple of days ago (includes MSI's copper heatsink platform and fan) and have been noticing something strange. I have the fan speed set at 100% in order to keep heat down, but the weird thing is when I OC the card to 700/1100 CCC reads the card as actually being cooler than it is when it is at stock speeds, stock is at 625/993. OC it is running at 42C under idle and 49-54C under full load (Oblivion max settings with 2xAA and a lot of texture improvement packs, and Crysis max settings (high,DX9)). At stock speeds it is running 48-50C idle and 56-62C under full load.

Anyone have any explanations for this?

Crysis released in Nov 07, right?

yes november, so about 10 months ago.

crytek had a deal with nvidia, which also helped ati....

that deal is to make the game's requirements out of this world, to promote more GPU sells....

the game maybe decent, or great to some, or crappy to others, but honestly it was about making money.. and about promoting "you have to get teh next newest card to run "crysis" that much better."

Do you have a link to prove that or did you just make that up in your head?

lol do you really need proof? just use your brain for a second... and you will understand..

Refer to above.

Starcraft 2, easily.

All of the others are just bonuses.

I think Vietnam should be CoD's next endeavor, I'm not that big of a fan of CoD though, something about the gameplay just throws me off.

I haven't tried altering it with the ingame AA on, I'll try doing that. But I'm using my guns and other various objects in the game world to verify AA.

I just wanted to compare Crysis' AA with ATI's AA and I can't seem to get ATI's to work through CCC.

I know I'm not buying it, it was never intriguing to me. Looks like it did even worse than I thought it would though.

I can't seem to get AA working in Crysis. I can use the in-game AA, but when I go through CCC and attempt to use ATI's AA it never shows up in the game for me. I am running a MSI R4850 w/ CCC 8.8.

Any insight here?
