@P00DGE: Not just knowledge of the MCU but also the four Spider-Man movies before the MCU even existed on the big screen.

I've never quite understood why reviewers would write a review for people trying to decide if they want to see a movie and then telling them not to read it because it has spoilers. What's the point?

@ghostspartan: I think there's a big difference between being a fan of something, and being involved in creating that thing. So you can be the biggest fan of Spider-Man, or Superman, or Batman, or whatever, but if you find yourself having played the character in multiple films, I'm certain the charm will wear off, and you're going to get tired of it and will desire to step back and just be a fan again.

Oh, please, we don't need another franchise ruined by an arbitrary gender flip.

I give this movie a 9 out of 10 if you're familiar with the previous live-action Spider-Man movies. It's probably a 7 out of 10 if you're not since a lot of the plot and character moments depend on that prior knowledge.

These really aren't Easter Eggs but direct references that are impossible to miss.

As film critic Pauline Kael once said, "Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash we have very little reason to be interested in them."

That's how the movie industry has been for decades.

I'm not sure what the point of a Matrix game is since every video game is essentially you playing in the Matrix.
