Simple mini games and tech demos aren't a sufficient enough experience to sell the mass market on these units that cost hundreds of bucks. Sure there are more traditional gaming experiences but they are the exception and not the norm. If VR wasn't more than a couple hundred for the units, you'd see a greater adoption rate.
Too bad no new customers will be able to play SMO! Nintendo's infamous hardware shortages will be at play this Holiday. Though it'll be easier to get a Switch than a SNES Mini. Scalpers, getting ready and salivating like crazy.
This was the narrative when the S was beating the PS4 last year on the NPD, it was because people were waiting for the Pro. Not surprised here, if you're buying an X1 for yourself, why wouldn't you wait for an X1X?
@tonyleo01: I hear ya. What I'd like to see instead of cross-play between Xbox and PS is for the 3rd parties to create a way to have data interchangeable between consoles. Not sure if permission would be needed for that but why should I have to grind twice on Destiny? Achievements and trophies wouldn't transfer but your level and progress would. Probably would never happen but it could be a cool feature.
@tonyleo01: You can get some of them cheaply thru GameStop used or by Black Friday new. I've purchased some games on both since the Pro came out. And since the announcement of the Scorpio, all my multi-plats have been X1.
