@chaosexile People are bashing the critic because she gave 9.5 to Gone Home (a good but nothing special game about a girl discovering she's a lesbian). Yet giving minus points to GTA because of the way it portrays women and being 'misogonistic'.
@19James89 I like them for the useability. I have an old iPhone 3G, my girlfriend and my boss use Android devices, and they're always coming to me because some setting buried in the menus has changed and is stopping something from working. My iPhone just works, plain and simple. If Google comes up with a similar GUI I may consider switching. That said I'm looking at Nokia/Windows 8 for my next phone, iPhones are just stupidly expensive.
If Kojima would've just kept um, quiet, about Quiet, I highly doubt anyone would've batted an eyelid when the game came out. But due to the fact he mentioned about making her more erotic for commercial purposes (which I think was a combination of the language barrier and an attempt to build hype) everyone gets on their moral high horse.
Like many other mainstream Japanese action games, Metal gear has always had a hint of sexy about it, and let's be honest, an inappropriately dressed female in a computer game is nothing new or to get excited about.
@airshocker @moonlightwolf01 @airshocker, I commend and respect your 6 years of military service, but since when has MGS been on the side of realism? I mean, giant nuclear robots, psycho gimps in gas masks, electronic stealth ninjas, etc etc. It's always erred on the side of sci-fi rather than pure Tom Clancy-esque action.
A mute bikini clad sniper, whilst clearly gratuitous and inappropriate for desert attire, is about as realistic as the rest of the game. If this was Splinter Cell, then perhaps I'd raise an eyebrow.
If Sony would've just paid his petrol money that was agreed in good time, they would only have had to pay him £1860 instead of £4600.
Here in the UK, a company is required BY LAW to pay interns when their employment status is classed as a worker; i.e. they are over 16 and not in education, AND if the company has given him/her work for him to do as long as the arrangement lasted.
Mr Jarvis is a post-graduate, and I'm guessing Sony had given him tasks to do.
I'd be pretty pissed off too if I traveled 3 or more hours and didn't get my travel expenses paid, and this guy took what he was legally entitled to.
Internships can be beneficial to both parties involved if done fairly and respectfully, it's a shame that a lot of companies see it as an opportunity for free labor or as a chance for exploiting someone by giving them shitty tasks.
Either way, I'm sure Sony aren't losing sleep over £4600.
Another great video, right on the mark as always. I'm not at my personal limit yet, but I will at least give the up MMO time-sinks next year when my girlfriend and I plan on moving in together. Shame to hear you are recently single Danny and your engagement (or was it marriage?) didn't work out.
Anyway great video, it will give me pause for thought for the rest of my working day.
I remember everything about DA:O and nothing whatsover about DA2, except there was a pirate chick as a companion. I will remain cautiously optimistic about the release of DA3.
