all of the consoles seem to have a drought going on. only a few big games are in the near future of the xbox 360, wii, and ps3. but the good part of all this is that i get to catch up on good games that i missed. (just got baten kaitos origins and i'm loving it.)
i just got exite truck and i absolutly love it but in the back of my mind i'm wondering if sonic rings was the better call. (it was one or the other but i decided on exite truck.)
it's worth getting if you plan on doing multiplayer. that's a blast. if not then you may want to consider something else because even though it's good it's much better in multiplayer.
don't forget exite truck and elebits. i just bought exite truck a couple days ago and i'm addicted. i've played about 5-6 hours a day on that thing. multiplayer while limited to just racing for two players is still sick. it gets pretty competitive when you're grabbing pow items to smash through entire forests to get ahead or using track deformation (deforming the structure of the track in other words) to hurl you're opponent in the air by creating a mountain right underneath them. it's pretty awesome to see a huge slope pop up under your opponent and watch them get thrown into the air off the track by the sudden change in track layout... elebits is great too. i bought that a week after getting the wii and it's fun in multiplayer. for the age group you're describing it's perfect.
yeah theres a drought but i don't really care. theres still some games for the wii that i want that i haven't bought yet. the ps3 and the xbox360 both are having droughts too. still it doesn't matter. if i run out of wii games that i want to get i'll grab some used gamecube games at f.y.e. they're all dirt cheap right now.
I just got on the F.Y.E. waiting list in late december and got mine in mid February. Ridiculous wait but it's easier than scouring the walmarts and best buys...
