I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who works at Blizzard. He knows several of the Bungie staff and he has confirmed for me that the leaked Halo 3 ending is indeed FAKE.

so all of you fanboys like me that were devastated when the plot was ruined, don't be sad. the plot is still secret! I have no idea what the real story or ending is, but I can't wait to play the game for myself to find out.

As for game of the year, I think it has a chance. There are more publications than just GameSpot that offer Game of the Year. And to those who say Halo 3, Mass Effect, etc. will win it... really? You have the forsight to look into the future and rate a game that hasn't been released yet? There are plenty of great games this year that are worthy of the title. It will be interesting to see which one wins, but in the end what does it matter? As long as you, the individual, enjoy the game some superficial award shouldn't matter.
