So I got a copy of Halo 3 early and booted it up without any excitement whatsoever. I do not want to spoil anything so I'm not gonna be specific about the game, but as a proof that I am playing it I'll say that the fifth level reminded me a lot of Half Life 2. In general I do hate Halo and I think that it is the most overhyped game EVER, but the third one isn't that bad. So far I'm 2/3 into the game and can say that it is a solid game that I would give it a 7.5 to an8 out of 10. (SINGLE PLAYER)Saying that I think that even Timesplitters: Future Perfectis better. The problem withHalo 3is that it is extremely linear and the weapons are not satisfying to use. In addition to that the graphics are very uneven. Aside from few astonishing scenarios (think of Niagara :D) and decent lighting the game is basically high res Halo 2. Nevertheless it is enjoyable so far. Even though the story makes no sense and is basically pointless, it does lead to some scenarios that make you say WOW. I do not want to be anymore specific so that is the only good thing that I can say abou the game. And I do not see myself playing multiplayer where it takes 10 bullets to kill a guy. I'm COD4 Beta kinda person. But I do see why people think that multiplayer is enjoyable. THEY NEVER PLAYED ANYTHING BETTER BEFORE. I do not want to mention games from competitor on this forum even though one comes to mind, so I'll just refer to games such as COD (PC) and COD4 that have much better multiplayer component. Halo is not even close to being as enjoyable multiplayerwise. The only thing that requires skill in Halo is jumping. Unlike Halo 2 where multiplayer was a highlight just because single player sucked so bad, in this one I'd say that singleplayer is much better.
P.S. I know that many peolpe are going to look up my history and see what game I've rated and what I wrote, but it is pointless since I rarely use this forum, I just read gamespot a lot. Right now Xbox 360 is the only console I own so I'm not THAT biased.
