would it even be worth taking to a computer shop to pawn for spares to get a few quick bucks or would i be better off getting him to give me some mones to go towards getting a comp?
btw im new at building comps hell im new at what is in comps so i dunno :S but im considering on doing this comp building as a little project :) lol so yeah. im not new at using comps :P
ok so my bludey friend kinda lied and the comp isnt all he made it out to be. so im gonna post the specs and i want to know if its worth upgrading the comp or buying a new one....
1) Pentium D 3.0GHz processor with 1MB L2 cache;
2) Geforce 6600 256MB video card.
3) Standard case fan and cpu cooler.
4) Broken 200GB HDD, find a HD that fits ino the drive bay.
5) 1GB RAM DDR.6) need new monitor anyone tell me the best stuff to get upto about 300-600 bucks. i wanna be able to play crysis and all etc. thanks in advance.

currently in the gaming market you can not buy a video game that works only on DirectX 5.
If you stay with XP you will not be able to use DirectX 10.
Can you predict the future given my statements above?
not basically a new comp as i said im kinda building. whats happening is my friend is giving me his pc as the hd broke and he wants a new one anyway. all i need to do is get a new hd and install an os and im good to go. and why do people still use xp when vista is out? cause some ppl loved xp
