and i dont care so much about backward compatability. why would i wanna play old games on a new system. when a new system comes out i just like seeing the graphical power, i doesnt matter if im losing lol
This doesnt surprise me at all. Most people on this website are serious gamers, not children playing Wii. Kids and casual gamers play Wii. Wii is supposed to be on at a party while everyone is getting drunk and little attention is needed and ease of use is important. Everyone taking these surveys plays FPS or RPG. The Wii will still sell with parents trying to buy their kids appropriate games but hardcore gamers and just older gamers in general will probly stick with "PS4" or "XBox: Whatever they call it"
ive seen all of these gamespot graphics comparisons... xbox360 has had a slight edge on most of the screenshots.. until now. It is clear that the PS3 has darker dark areas and brighter bright areas (better contrast) than 360 in these shots. Developers have been playing catch-up bc 360 was out first and sold more units so their focus was gettin the best out of that system. PS3 had sold a lot less so there was less motivation there, plus the hardware was difficult to program, Now its only $299 so there are more ps3 owners and it has been a couple years so the hardware is better understood. Before either system was release most people thought PS3 would have slightly better graphics and that wasn't the case for the first few years but it is now. PS3 has overtaken 360's graphics but barely. On PS3 exclusives I think the gap is bigger. Like uncharted 2's graphics are insane at some points. Multi-platform games will most likely only show negligable differances. Its a console war now tho
Activision desigined this game for 360 and then ported it to PS3, thats why 360's graphics may look a little better to people. To me it just looks like the brightness on the ps3 shots is up a notch. If this game were engineered on a PS3, it couldnt transfer over to the 360 bc they dont use blu ray discs. Also, if it was made for the ps3 the graphics would undoubtledy look better than they do in these screens and better definatly better than what the 360 looks like in these screens. But hey, Activision chose 360 so whatever. graphics are good enough for me
It all comes back to production costs. 360 sold way better, so the market of potential buyers for 360 games is much higher. This means more money and effort is being put into the production of 360 games (including graphics). I have no doubt in my mind that if all of PS3's technology was utilized to its capacity that it could blow 360's graphics out of the water in just about every category. But seriously, its not important. Like everyone else is saying, the graphics are so close what really matters is gameplay.
Wait a second. isnt there a new Grand Theft Auto comming out this year? b/c i thought there was. hmmmm... MGS4? nobody huh.. well that doesn't make sense at all. I like Battlefield and Bad Company is probly gonna be awsome. well, i dont agree with most of the picks except Halo 3, Unreal Tournament 2007 is gonna be awsome too.
