About my paper...

Hi all!

I'm gonna go a little into the details of my graduation paper, since so many people have joined my ranks for friends list and are reading my reviews.

First of all, the backbone for my work is the book Hamlet in the Holodeck, by Janet H. Murray. It's a book about storytelling in the new mediums, like the internet, games and even V.R.

My work will consist in an analysis of how one's satisfaction in interacting in a game is made possible by the use of animation. Murray calls this 'satisfaction' agency. Agency is what you feel when you punch a rock in a game, for instance. You know your character is gonna be hurt or, if he's a super-human, the rock will crumble. If something like that doesn't happen, or if it underdone, you may loose interest in the game... that's where my paper will go, on how this is done by animators, how the realism of doing something can be done and how far an animator can go, or how little something can be done to amplify this effect.

I'm planning on focusing on the Tim Shafer games, since they are so imaginative and well made. I will mainly focus on Psychonauts, a game that has incredible and crazy effects... but Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle will be looked into also, since they are adventure games after all and adventure games are all about cause and effect.

That's why I've been asking the staff for support, since I'll need some interviews with many diversed people in the industry to know their views and thoughts. I'm really waiting on Greg Kasavin and Bethany Massimilla for their answers, since they have the most compatible views with the subject I'm working on. But all of the staff would definetly help out a lot I could get in touch with them, since they have wildly different views on the many subjects I'll get into to detail my paper's main topic. I'm hoping some of them will read my personal messages...

Let's see how this ends up.

I'll post here as it goes.

See ya! :D

Top 100 reviewer

Yep, I may be #99 but that's in the Top 100 reviewers zone here at Gamespot! I'm planning on reaching an even better qualification, if there is one. No one knows if there is, not even the mods!

I hope everyone is enjoying my writing. I'm getting a lot of practice with it, so with each review written, the quality (I hope) is going up!

See ya. :)

Oh well, now it's gone. I hope the new system is really thought-out.

The neverending quest for support!

In my never-ending quest to get the staff's support for my graduation paper in adventure games, this week Carrie and Justin Calvert were really nice as to add me as a friend. Now I can easily reach them when the time comes for my interview...

I really wish the rest of the GS staff read their mail boxes, if I can get as most people as possible that are into the game industry, my work will have stronger pillars holding it.

Anyways, thanks Carrie and Justin for the support and let's see if I can get more support!

Bethany, are you reading this?! :?

See ya!

Banners accepted.

New banners selected for the week of 24/03/06... boy, my design career is just sky rocketing! No more brand making or animating for me, banners are my thing, baby...

They were:
Die Hard (NES),
Headhunter (PS2, Dreamcast),
Iron Storm (PC),
Spy Hunter (NES, Arcade),
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (PC),

Thanks for visiting my profile page!

See ya!

Well, Alex selected some of the banners I made for gamespaces in the week of 03/03/06...

They were:
Baldur's Gate (PC),
Baldur's Gate: Tales of the Sword Coast (PC),
Baldur's Gate II: The Collection (PC),
Grandia Online (PC),
Grandia: Parallel Trippers (GBC),
Robotech: Battlecry (PS2, GCN, Xbox),
Thief Gold (PC),
Totally Unreal (PC),
Unreal (PC).

I think more will be selected as he stopped in the 1/3-1/2 of my list... at least I hope.I really don't understand some of the selections Alex makes.
Some of them aren't even related to the games, using different graphics from different versions and even repeating some features found in other banners.

I'm seriously thinking about making a real banner tutorial for people, as a lot of art I see made and selected is not very good...

More to come later!
