best i understand from reading on fo3 forums 1 of the moderators said no you do not have to patch it- but many people there are trying to patch it anyway-because it only half works- i deleted the game after i could not get gfwl to let me log on from the game and could not play the dlc's- i was not going to pull out my hair trying 50 different things to get gfwl to work or get the dlc's to half work right- seems the only folks the dlc's work right for are the most loyal of fo3 fan boys and bethesda fo3 moderators-

beth is poor with patching and patch info too- they do not say if you need all patches or just the most new or nothing else- original patch info said just for the most new dlc- now they have changed all info on sites that carry their patches- and dont say just for latest dlc- any way- they will never get another dime of my money not for a goty or fo4 or nothing else- i have the collectors ed with the lunchbox- stock fo3 and patch 015 runs like a top for me and with nv 182.06 drivers- but they do not read on the forums- they auto go into its your systems fault- or look at my system specs and some ignorant type with a out of box dell starts talking some junk- look at all of your mixed parts- say to me-i dont know how to build systems and i have some bunch of mixed up parts- and i dont know how to install or patch or play games or something stupid- say games dont like all hardware on earth other than his out of box dell-and oh ya-the game and all dlc's work perfect for him and his box dell. i just have to laugh- and then just get sick of it all..

tho i say the stock game runs pretty perfect for me-i have to listen to stupid guff-all help or fixes comes from the community- beth does nothing- they remind me so much of gsc and stalker- tho gsc stalker would patch- its just the patches was crap and broke new stuff as much as said to fix old problems- thq dropped gsc for bad patches and thq was quality control- and gsc just wanted to pass the buck for its crappy patches- thq did good to drop gsc- beth is a crap company. has a notorious rep for poor patches or get to it when or if they feel like it- and beth holds the record for most buggy game on earth [thats really bad if more buggy than stalker games]- i cant remember the beth game name now- its just like ea or gsc stalker junk-i will never buy from any of them or beth parent company again- no wolfenstein or nothing else from them. makes me sad- i really wanted rage- well wanted wolfenstein too- i loved rtcw- but i will avoid it now.. tho 20 bucks or free might make me buy or play..

for the record- most any game you buy a goty a collectors ed ultimate collections etc will come with the most latest patch out at that time- ive never heard of anything or games that do not include the latest patch/s period. and most such info is normally in the lit that comes with the game and or should be able to be view from with in the game on the gui someplace- normally for games with mp- its on the mp gui. all new games should have patch version info in the with game read me too. updating patches might not update the read me or patch version info. some games do some dont change or give patch version info in the read me.

maybe this thread should be deleted and mac users ban- they just want to argue and push lying garbage- over 90% of computers used on this earth are windows pc's- again i have both systems and hey macs have its slow times and yes they get viruses too- these people [mac] are just trying to get attention and start trouble- maybe gs should ban them- if macs was so freaken great maybe just maybe they would eat into the over 90% world of windows use- they cant and will not period.

ha ha i love my xp and i only use ie6 too- ive had w7 hp upgrade sitting here since 10-23-09 and in no hurry to install it- as a fact- if xp could get dx10 id sell or give away my 2 copies of w7.. ha ha i run my system with no security other than my firewall some 17 hours a day each and everyday 365 days a year when gaming- and no virus or problems- gs really should lock or delete this junk trouble making thread..

well- i have both mac and windows computers in my house- and for general use office type stuff and surfing the net and say porn- well ya- mac is better maybe- but you have way more codec problems using macs and for sure macs are not worth a crap for pc gaming-

i am a pc fps or combo fps rpg gamer- and well macs are great for 1978 pong type games civ etc- they are not worth a crap for playing modern computer games and or you only get a few titles to run on macs- and you for sure get way less game patches for macs too- my self- i do not need a computer at all if not gaming- and i will never own or use a console-

1 more pc mac fact- i have to have a windows pc on hand to use all of the millions of programs i cant use on my mac systems- so in the great scheme of computers for the most part a mac is useless for me- other than some fake mac versus pc cute commercials on tv- windows pc's are more practical and can do millions of things i can not on my macs- so- i say why buy or own the macs to start with.

by the way- widows pc's are 90% of the market for a reason- if you want to spend more money for less options- by all means buy a mac- if you only have simple computer use needs and dont mind spending extra for it and have no intentions of upgrading your system other than maybe some ram- by all means buy a mac. mac arguments are silly to say the least- no matter what- to each his own.

sorry- i will add- my advise is- if you want to buy a mac you might as well buy a cheap windows system too- then you can do all you cant do with your over priced mac system.. and ya- you have more maintenance with windows pc's- but if you stay on top of it and security and scans- well you do not have the said slow downs- its comical to compare macs to windows pc's- it truly is..

the 3 new zombie maps in the patches are cool. ive been playing der riese all day for 3 days trying to master it and open up everything. i got everything opened up. but have not teleported yet or used the pack a punch machine.. i die before i can make enough money. but i have the teleports linked up. the zombies are a trip. and the hell hounds are cool too. nazi zombies adds new life and a lot more game play to codwaw for us sp players. but id guess co op and mp would be cool too. i dont care for mp games tho. but if i had friends with codwaw- co op might be sweet..

oh ya. i installed a ton of other maps for nazi zombies. about 30 total. but a few did not want to work but..

install them to mods folder.. then in gui [mods] high light the map in list then press load or play what ever it is at the bottom of the screen. wait a few seconds for the screen to go blank and then pop back up-- dont worry it dont crash and will come back.. then i go back to mods. high light the map. then press ~ for console and say for map china type this and it works..>

/map nazi_zombie_china

then press- enter and it loads up the map and you can play in solo or sp mode. sweet. later i will post some screens and movies. soon i will be at level 10 here at gamespot and i can upload videos here. that will be cool i think.. i need to upload more screens here too..

i agree. gfwl is worthless. beth would have been better off using steam. or not using any of them type services. they would have been better off selling discs with the dlc's. but even they dont work. the largest problem is beth can care less. they pay for great reviews and advertisements. well i will take a lil back. as i said the stock game and patch 015 the game runs great for me. but beth has a rep of poor patching and get to it if or when they feel like it. and they hold the record for the most buggy game on earth.. that must be 1 poor game if its worst than stalker for sure. sorry i cant remember the name of the game now.

but fo3. man ive read a lot on this game and trying to fix my own problem that is maybe the same as yours. i about started to pull out my hair. i said to hell with it and deleted fo3. 1 of my favorite games. i just feel lucky i only paid 49.99 for the collectors ed with the lunch box. i got it from circuit city when they went under here in my city. i wanted it [lunch box] to put all of my working game discs in. its sweet too. my lil bobble head is look at me now shaking his head.. but had i spent 70 bucks. and then this gfwl junk and read of all the poot patches and the dlc's only half work. i dont know. i have a bad temper. i think i would have stomped all of it and tossed it out into the yard. and instead of being nice on beth site id be cussing folks out. i bite my tongue so not to cuss out fan boys and moderators now. i check the site every week to see if maybe. just maybe they will do the right thing and patch the junk so it all works right. but im not going to hold my breath.. but you can read at beth and all over the net. from patch 1.1 on fo3 has been a night mare. and just like you. it just stops working for no good reason gfwl what ever. lots of folks could not play the game at all after installing 1.1 patch. and every patch after folks have crazy problems too. its sickening..

ha ha. beth cant even post any info on any site that carries it patches if you have to install all patches 1 at a time or if the last parch has all past patches in it- nothing. they have good reviews and fan boys who will flame for them push hype and help them sell buggy mods. and they only care about making money and dont care if it works or not. and now they will sell folks the goty too. 50 bucks for the game. 50 more bucks for dlc's that half work and now 50 more bucks for the goty and a promise. its freaken stupid. na the stupid ones are the ones who will give them 50 more bucks.. now if i read it all works flawlessly. well then i will buy the goty but after its on sale. i would have spent the extra 50 bucks for the dlc's any way had gfwl worked and i had read the dlc's worked right. id have them all now. i love the game. i think the dlc's would have been cool. id really like to have broken steel for sure. just for the free play. and not just game over.. and i like the big robot..

cool. i just walked in and my down load just finished. took about a hour 35 minutes. for the free service. not bad really 3.8 gigs. oh ya. its not just 1 large patch its all 6 stand alonein 1 download.. thats still cool tho. im ready to go now..

i will post back here when i finish the game and can start playing the zombie maps. post some screens and im sure i will make videos too. so. and i might look for and install other maps too. i want to see what all is going to be installed first. then i can hunt new maps.. gees my codwaw program file is going to be huge. but ive had my ut04 file a lot larger im sure..

well seems. i do not have to download all patches 1 at a time.. this ultimate patch has them all from 1.1 to 1.6. its size is 3,671.4 mb it should be done by the time i get home.. sweet.. thats what over a 3 gig file size?

sorry dan. but that is not what i typed. i said it was 13 to 14 nazi zombie maps. or this map pack link i posted has 28 maps. i said nothing about how many bots or zombies are in each map..

and as best i can read. to play the maps solo. i have to go into the console and type..>

SOLO Playing: If you wish to play alone then open console- say for zombie villa

if playing co op i can play right from mods..

but again. another post says you play the maps by typing this. from console. say for zombie prototype..>

any way. the 28 maps pack was last updated in july. so its newer maps out right now and some are in the official patches if im not mistaken. i have to go take care of something. ive already deleted a few games and defraged etc. when i get back i will install the game codwaw and see what its patched to and download the patches.. took about 20 minutes to download the 28 map pack 1.37 gigs.. in fact im going to let my system download the last 2 patches while im gone for about an hour or so.. they are large files.. so..
