No way your CPU will bottleneck a 5850, just OC it to 3.6ghz and you'll be fine with an HD5870. E8400-8600 are still awesome for gaming, it's mostly the older Dual Core processors that are under 3.0ghz that bottleneck the more recent GPUs

Well i'm pretty sure he didn't mean opening the ps3 to void the warranty.

He probably meant cables or the hard drive.

anyway if that is the case you do not need areceiptto be honest since sony repairs ps3's up to one year and the slims were just released.

That's a pretty good deal. Keep in mind an OS alone cost at least 75-100 dollars lol

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit(desktop) 32bit(laptop) since early October for free from my university. Windows 7 is an OS, no one should upgrade their OS for an increase in gaming performance for crying out loud it's an OS. If you are limited to DX9 because of XP then ya I guess it can be considered an upgrade for gaming but I'm sick and tired of people trying to compare the 1-2 FPS gained or loss in certain games. I'm also sick and tired of people saying Win7/Vista are resource hogs, if they are slow on your computer then maybe it's time for you to upgrade your hardware. The world will not limit progression in the software field because you're too cheap to upgrade over time.

Go 64bit, 32bit has a 4gb memory limit (includes your RAM and VRAM).

Also 64 bit is for the future, honestly I think that Microsoft should just only sell 64bit OS that way programmers can take full advanage of the 64bit OS. Instead of limiting their programs to 32 bit they can just write them in 64bit. (They never do it that way now because obviously if a computer that was 32bit tried to run a 64bit program it would run a lot slower)

If a game isn't running as well as you want it to and it's known to be better played on a Qcore just OC your CPU. GTA IV runs great on high/very high at 1920x1080.(Just don't put view distance on high, set it to around 22-25)

If you overclocked your CPU it just means that it's not at a stable clock.

Either lower the clock speed or up the voltage a bit.
