And as far as the whole digital distribution topic is concerned, I will NEVER buy a digital copy of a AAA or game, ever. I want and will always want the box, the box art and whenever possible, the manual. It's all a part of the gaming experience and I shouldn't be forced to buy a digital version if I want a new copy. So to me, the most logical solution to this used game sales dilemma is, as others have said, for publishers to either stop charging for DLC and/or increase competition with the used market by lowering the cost of their titles at retail!! Drop it down to $40 or $30 ideally and even though some people will still buy the slightly cheaper used copies, devs and publishers will still sell a lot more new than if they continue to charge $60 and esp. if they go ahead with this banning nonsense.

I have been reading and thinking about this issue for weeks now and thought I'd just chime in with my 2 (or 3) cents. I work in the industry and I'm not in dev or publishing but I can honestly say my opinion on used game sales has changed over time. At first I thought buying used was great but the more I learned how the industry works, the more I too realized how little it helps the devs be able to continue making the kinds of games I like. On the other hand, if future consoles were to ban used titles, it could financially crush the very same companies who implement it, and thus the industry as a whole. People would either not buy very many games, pirating would sky rockit or some would stop playing altogether.

No Way!! No way Prey 2 could be cancelled!! That is my most anticipated game of the whole freaking year!! It's one thing to not be ready to show something for a trade/convention show but it's a whole different matter to be dropping the game altogether. For that reason, I am thinking that it's still in dev., well, def. at least hoping!

I'm grateful to have a job again and one in the gaming industry makes it that much sweeter. Developer/publisher-wise, my biggest thanks goes to Bethesda. It's been an awesome year delving into Fallout 3 and its DLC; I'll never grow tired of wandering the wastes. Big props as well to the makers of Arkham Asylum, Dirt 2, and especially Borderlands. Soo much fun. I too am overjoyed to see many studios taking chances again or for the first time on innovative, new ideas and for veterans (Valve, Ubisoft (AC2) who put their ears to the wall and made many of the changes the people asked for. Finally, I am thankful for console price wars and the beautiful thing it is for the PS3 to be 300 bucks and in my opinion, finally have a consistent lineup of quality system exclusives.
