Putting the parts together is easy, the trouble is if it doesn't work and troubleshooting which is a pain. Everything you have there but the power supply would be super easy. I imagine you already have a power supply so if you keep track of where the power cables are going and make sure to reattach the new ones to the same places you should be fine. Saving $160 bucks would certainly make it worth an effort. As mentioned before, watch out for static.
Warcraft II, I think it was the first game I owned in more than 16 colors (a friend lent me the Warcraft I cd earlier, and you didn't need the cd to play). That was tons of fun, I remember playing over dial-up with a friend of mine on a regular basis.
I think the most actually depressed I remember being is after a Doom co-op session. Don't get me wrong, sweet game, me and a friend in middle-school would go through the game on a LAN in his basement. I remember coming outside after a good chunk of a nice summer day was used up exploding demons into piles of flesh and offal in dark corridors to music that sounded like a stomach gurgling and feeling depressed. As far as frustrating games go, Tresspasser was one that I suffered through because Jurassic Park was my favorite movie at the time. It could have been awesome but got caught up in being "innovative." I spent more time in that game trying to get my damn arm/gun to point straight than shooting dinosaurs (had multiple axis' to move arm and hand, absolutely no point). I'm getting depressed thinking about it.
Besides a few DOS games (1943 WWII flight simulator, Winnie the Pooh, math games), my first PC game that got me hooked was probably warcraft at a friends house, back in 94 or 95. Then for christmas I got some educational game and promptly returned it for Warcraft II which had recently come out. That was the beginning of the end.
I think the most I was ever scared by a game was when I was crawling through some air ducts and a headcrab jumped at my face back in Half-Life. I seriously had pins and needles in my whole body I tensed up so fast. FEAR was pretty scary too, in a "I think I'll leave the lights on in my room" kind of way.
I know Vista users can play some games on Live and have a Gamertag/Gamerscore. I'm just curious if I can track the games I play and the amount of time spent etc. Fairly simple. I'm sure it's out there but I don't know what to look for. Thanks!
