@tzolynski: That's one thing, the online infrastructure's more stable on Xbox. I just thought about it when I realized Xbox was lagging behind my gaming wishlist. Nintendo really is past their glory days but Wii U's slowly turning into the next Dreamcast with all these gems like Splatoon. Love watching playthroughs of that.

@Ovirew: I've always known Toro as the PSN mascot for Japan, or at least that's what I read somewhere. That's what's different about Sony, they cater to a much wider audience compared to Microsoft/Nintendo and it's harder to put a face to that.
Avoid the following, in my opinion:
CoD: Ghosts (probably the worst in the series in years)
Battlefield 4 (buy it only if you plan on playing it online)
Assassin's Creed Unity (it's a tad repetitive and boring, but I heard Ubisoft already issued a patch for the bugs)
If I were to be honest I'd suggest you get the obvious ones: The Last of Us and GTA V. But if you're aching for something different, then try Far Cry 4 and Sleeping Dogs.
On MGSV, it depends if you swear by the stories in your games. If you don't mind being confused, then go for it, because it's surely a GOTY contender.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a potential future gem. It's really fun and not as story-heavy as MGS.
Isn't PSP Go a variation of the PSP? PS3 has my vote. Love me some God of War 3, MGS4 and Guitar Hero III.
Heavenly Sword deserved an 8.5, not all the 7s it got. That, and every generation needs a Twisted Metal.
Well, Sony said there's no official mascot so it depends on who you ask. I know some who'd say it's Nathan Drake, some Sackboy, or Ratchet.
Shooters nowadays tend to feel arcadey, so that'd be a welcome change. A new installment that revisits the originals would be so much better.
GT Sport doesn't look like a main entry in the series. I guess that's reserved for 2017, around the time it typically takes for the series to switch to the next generation. GT games are huge, unlike Forza which has decent-sized car rosters, so I think it may come out at that time.
For RPG's you can't go wrong with the Ys games. Not sure how many there are for Vita, but on PSP they were great. The killer app that everyone has to own is definitely Persona 4: The Golden. There are the final revisions of Ninja Gaiden 1 (Sigma Plus) and 2 (Sigma 2 Plus) which may or may not make them the definitive versions. The Vita's backward compatible with PSP games so be sure to pick up this little horror gem Corpse Party as well as Where is My Heart. And Sound Shapes is a rhythm game with tens of thousands of great user-made levels. Tip: check the official PS blog for updates on new releases. There's a new indie/Japanese game almost every week.
I've always been a PS/Nintendo gamer and Sega too in my childhood. Xbox never seemed to click with me and I don't know why. Maybe it's too similar to what PS can offer. Don't get me wrong though, I still admire what I've heard of Xbox through the years. But I'm curious if anyone can convince me to like the brand at the same level as the other three.
