i have a amd 3200+ (probably similar to your processor), a gig of ram, and a 6600gt (a significantly worse card) and i run smoothly on 1024*768 settings at mid-high although i turn off AA

i recently upgraded my ram from 512mb to 1gig. ive noticed performance increase in games but a DECREASE in multitasking performance specifically when i try to watch a movie on my tv (through s-video) while playing warcraft or just browsing the net. the movie stutters signficantly when i do this now although it was perfectly fine with 512mb of ram.

the 512mb and 1gig of ram are both dual channel pc3200 ddr400

the highest speed my comp supports is pc3200 and both the samsung and kingston is pc3200 ddr400

so i should go for 1.5gigs?

i have 2 * 256mb of samsung dual channel pc3200 ddr400 ram (200mhz) in my comp currently.

just bought another pair of dual channel 512mb kingston ram.

i got 4 slots in my comp so is it ok for me to mix the two types in a double dual channel system?

the kingston ram is a "higher quality" so would the new ram be slown down to the speed of the samsung?

that is would i be better off removing the samsung ram and going with a gig of kingston. or should i try to mix the two ram and go

with 1.5gigs.

but are only official microsoft hd drives compatible?

can i buy a 160gb nonmicrosoft one
