I think they did the wrong type of experiment. If they're asking after, you aren't really getting an answer that is based on appeal.

Instead, they should have simply described each game and then asked which they'd rather play. That way you get a response that is almost entirely based on appeal. Without knowing anything else, I would honestly rather play a game of "kill or be killed" over a game of "tag".

As others have said, this is nothing unique to GTA4. It isn't even unique to videogames, it pretty much happens in every form of media.

I don't believe this is really fighting piracy, pirates can get the updates just as easily as they can the full game. I believe this is more a realization that most pirates wouldn't have bought the game anyway, and that DRM only punish the honest consumer. Definitely the direction the industry should be headed though.

1. Don't bother with protection. Arms or Fury Warriors are perfectly good tanks. Protection is only any good in raids, especially with the recent changes to high level dungeons.

2. If your friend prefers casters, then any of the hybrids like elemental shaman, Balance Druid, or shadow Priest are a great choice. That way he can DPS while you guys level and heal dunegons and group quests.

I agree with the ruling. He invested five years of his life into this game, god only knows how much money on subscription fees (and possible RMT)...at that point you have a legitimate property with a substantial time and money investment involved.

So when considering punishment for the destruction of legitimate property, you have to take into account the time put into it and the money spent on it. She should do five years and have to pay up five years worth of subscription fees, at the very least.

if i remember right maple story is free game

but i cant decide which one is more insane, the woman for having this kind of grudge for the man or the man for calling police for his characters...

some people need real LIFE!

maybe both of them should be arrested for wasting police's time...

Lets say his hobby was fixing up old cars.

He's been working on a particular car for five years and he's pumped lots of money into it. One day his girlfriend gets pissed and smashes the car up. Is it a waste of time to call the police? Is the guy crazy because he wants retribution for the destruction of his property?

Of course not. It shoudn't make any difference that this is a vitual character.

The fact that this is a virtual character is inconsequential. If you destroy someone's personal property you have to pay for it. Some of these virtual things are pretty valuable, I've heard of people selling things for hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

I've got nothing against MMOs, so I'm looking forward to this. The emphasis on storytelling is a good sign that Bioware isn't just pumping out another WOW clone.

From memory, BioWare didn't do KotOR 2. Obsidian did. BioWare wanted to do Jade Empire instead. If BioWare is working on a KotOR MMORPG, what does that mean for their current series: Mass Effect?

Chemistian

Bioware opened up an entirely new studio to work on the MMO. I assume their main studio is still working on the single player games.

Unless Im mistaken Obsidian is either owned by Bioware, or is a sister company of Bioware. Point is Bioware did have a hand in the making of KOTOR 2. They acted like they did back when they used to work with Black Isle. Black Isle was the front company for alot of game with Bioware helping out. Same thing with KOTOR 2, Obsidian was the front company but Bioware was somewhat involved.EvilAshTwin

Unless it happened recently, Obsidian isn't owned or tied to Bioware in any business way. The company is made up of old Black Isle guys, so they've simply maintained a friendship with Bioware trying to help them get work. AFAIK the only involvement Bioware had with KOTOR 2 was to provide technical assistance with the game engine.

Bioware has already said they have a KOTOR MMO in the works.

Honestly I think you guys need to start preparing yourselves for the fact that EA is going to kill the KOTOR franchise. Theyve already said they are no longer greenlighting any SP exclusive games. All games must have MP or it wont be made. KOTOR MMO is going to be StarWars Galaxies set 2000 years in the past. Any "real" KOTOR game is going to be crap because EA will force Bioware to spend more time on MP than on SP.

EvilAshTwin

Well, in fairness to EA, the KOTOR MMO was already in development when they bought Bioware. I'd love a single player KOTOR 3 as much as anyone, but I just don't think Bioware is interested in making that game since they've got their plate full with their own single player RPG properties like Dragon Age and the Mass Effect trilogy.

I suppose I'm one of the few that is interested in seeing what they will do with the MMO. I doubt this will be another Star Wars Galaxies, since that game ended up being a huge failure.
