Hey Boys, Girls, Guys, and Gals,
Just recently on Thursday here at GameSpot we got through playing a wonderful gem of a game called Johan Sebastian Joust. The indie game requires no console. All you need is a mac computer of some sort and Playstation move controllers. The game is a blast and has a lot of potential. It's kind of a shame its taken this long for someone to realize the potential of this. In any event if you're able to somehow try this game out you should. Check out the GameSpoter's playing Johan Sebastian Joust in this hopefully working link below. Yeah I'm that tall skinny Asian guy. Fun times!!

Things I look forward to in 2012
by Erick on Comments
Happy 2012 everyone,
Going to try to keep this short and sweet. These are some of the things/events/games I look forward to in 2012.
Games
Diablo III (whenever it comes out), time to become a true china farmer (I'm chinese) so its ok for me to say that and profit off little kids!
Starcraft II Heart of the Swarm (again, whenever this comes out) - I sense a Blizzard theme
Mists of Panda wait a sec... No I actually am not looking forward to this one. I quit WoW and refuse to go back this time!
Street Fighter x Tekken this one should be interesting I hope, we'll see if I actually like it or not.
I am Legend, I mean I am Alive. That game looks pretty cool.
Events
MLG's 4 champsionship rounds primarily for Starcraft II. Don't care much for the FPS.
EVO 2012 the craziest fighting game tourney per year. Wonder if anything will top Poongko's thrashing of Daigo this year.
Blizzcon 2012 opps not happening. But I am looking forward to Blizzards 2012 Battle.net World Champsionship again for SC2 and not WoW.
Finally hopefully getting together for a barcraft or something here locally in SF for SC2 (working on it with the boss)
People like to read lists right? Hope so. Ok that wasn't so short I apologize.
What do you look forward to for 2012 in the gaming scene, be it games or events/tournaments and the such?
Happy Holidays to One and to All!

Happy Holidays Boy, Girls, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Just a quick blog to spread the "Holiday" cheer and hope everyone had a good Christmas and an incoming New Year. No new games for me, but I'm still Starcrafting with the occasional CoD MW3. I hope everyone that did get games for presents are enjoying them be it Skyrim, Star Wars The Old Republic, Zelda Skyward Sword or any of the other major titles. Play to your hearts content before the new year rolls around. On a side note I finally hit Masters in Starcraft 2 Season 5 in 1v1s. I want to say to anyone trying to move up in divisions be it bronze, silver, gold, plat, diamond etc. Just keep playing and don't let the losses ever bother you. Enjoy the game and you'll get there.
So many awesome things happened in 2011 and for me mainly the growth of E-Sports. I hope that it continues to grow and or definitely sustains, because it's pretty entertaining to me and I'm sure to many others. I myself hope to be a help and a force in eSports next year. It'll be a goal of mine to try to reach out to the community here to grow the passion for eSports. My primary expertise would be Starcraft II, but will hope to try to bring more knowledge about other games currently in eSports. I know the Fighting Game Community and eSports community aren't in sync yet but I hope that barrier gets broken too. It would be awesome to see UMVC3 at MLG #just sayin. Anyways, enjoy the rest of 2011 and may 2012 be another great year for games and gamers all around.

VGA's 2011 and Random Pro SC2 Streams
by Erick on Comments
Hey again ya'll,
Just wrapping up the weekend here and thought I'd share my thoughts on some of this weekends festivities. Let's start with what I thought was a pretty entertaining 2 hours or so of the Video Game Awards 2011. Pretty much jam packed with world premiers trailers and some comic relief. Also, the amazing Deadmau5 playing some tunes in the back (might have to get sound shapes just cause of him). On top of just the awesome amazing trailers, I really liked the character videos for the "Best Character of the Year Award" and was happy to see who won actually win it. Also, really enjoyed seeing Naughty Dog's next game "The Last of Us." My biggest let down, only because I'm so hyped for it was the Diablo 3 trailer, which I found somewhat lack luster. Finally, it was pretty darn awesome to see the Transformer "Fall of Cybertron" trailer which had an old school look to it and had GRIMLOCK in it!
I tend to watch a lot of Starcraft 2 Pro Player streams mainly because I think it's entertaining and I want to try to learn different strategies or maybe try to pick up on any micro tips etc. I found it hilarious though as I was watching eG.HuK's stream that he actually still had the camera up when he and his teammate iDRa were eating I guess lunch? It was intertesting to me, only because other Korean pro players ended up being there to the likes of Cella aka CellaWerra but now a coach of Slayers. As time flew by you ended up getting to see a shy SlayerSBoxer the emperior himself, and his protege in training MMA. Oh, I forgot to mention the reason that iDRa and HuK are in Korea to train. I just thought it was cool to see the interactions of the other people there and really don't know why I watched them eat for so long. Just pretty cool to see a Pro Korean house in action, must be nice to have a maid that cooks/cleans. Anyways thanks for tuning in and listening to the random rants.

NASL Season 2 Grand Finals Thoughts
by Erick on Comments
Hey Guys, Gals, Boys, and Girls,
This will be the first of hopefully many blog posts to come, please don't flame me/troll me too hard, but if you have any constructive criticism or anything you think I missed or needs to be corrected please post below. My blogs will mainly be discussing Starcraft II, as well as eSports in general but also some miscellaneous thoughts on various other games and events.
The North American Star League Season 2 Finals just came to an end, and I want to discuss some of the good and the bad of the tournament from my perspective. Let's go ahead and talk about the bad news first. One of the biggest and most noticeable flaws is that this season none of the Korean based teams/players decided to attend this tournament. One of the biggest draws in my book is having the best talent available playing and competing. Even though a lot of the foriegn players (the non-Korean players) are popular, skilled, and well known it seems that the Korean players tend to draw more attention. I think not only did the in person venue suffer because of this, but NASL 2 probably did not maximize their viewership online as well. Here are some minor tidbits, as that was probably my biggest gripe in regards to the actual tournament. This is probably a personal preference, but I'm not a huge fan of the Gretorp/Orb casting combo. They don't mesh very well, whereas I feel Gretorp and inControl were a better combo during NASL Season 1. Another thing I wasn't a huge fan of and apparently most of the players weren't either was the combined booth set up, instead of the typical 2 booth setup. I'm not sure if it's because I'm just used to having the separate booths, but it seems to make for a better show than having them cramped and both walking into the same one.
Now let's talk about some of the good! The NASL introduced (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) the red carpet concept. Basically they played music that the players selected as they entered the "arena" down a red carpet. Fans could extend their hands and give high fives to their favorite players. Not everyone's a fan of the WWF/WWE, but this concept seems pretty cool to me and could have been more successful if there were more fans. Some of the players really enjoyed the concept and ran down the carpet high fiving the people that were there left and right with big smiles on their faces. I think this concept should be considered especially for the other major tournaments like IPL and MLG. It's pretty cool for the players and the fans. Hopefully it would help generate more hype and enthuasiasm in the venue.
Anyways thanks for reading guys. If you guys have any incite on what you saw this weekend and want to chime in as well please do so below.
