The beeping sound is the mobos self test.

One beep usually means everything is okay and no beep almost always means trouble.
Some mobos give you extra info when somethings wrong with extra beeps (codes).
If you know what board youre dealing with, you can check the manufacturer'swebsite for details on the beep codes.

If (correctly) flashing the bios didn't work and it's not a driver problem, the chance is huge that it's a hardware issue.
I would also try to return the board.

I've encountered problems with my USB 3.0 ports too.
After ruling out the hardware side I finally solved them by:

1-Uninstalling all mobo drivers from within Win7

2-Flashing the BIOS to the latest version.

3-Installing the (latest) mobo drivers from within Win7.

For some strange reason, it only worked worked for me in that exact order.
If I had mobo drivers installed before I flashed the BIOS nothing was fixed.

(I also had to uninstall one Windows update later on but my troubles were slightly different.)

Tell that someone to do some research on harddrive power consumption. A mechanincal HDD consumes well below 10 watts when working, and a SSD takes like 1 - 2 watts. You can just put it in your current computer and format it from there.spittis

Great.
Thanks for the ultra fast response :)

Hello all,

Ive got a quick, hopefully, simple question.
Im about to put a third hard drive in my pc.(one of them is an SSD)
A friend gave it to me, its a fully working Western Digital raptor so it seems worth the trouble:)

But someone just told me I could run into trouble if my PSU isnt powerful enough.
I think it is, but just in case, can somebody confirm.

This is my set-up right now:

-I5-2500 K (slightly overclocked)

-Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850 80plus Silver, Modula

-Ausus P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3, s1155m

-SSD Intel 330 series 120 GB sata 3 / sata 6GBps

-Seagate Barracuda 2TB

-Geforce GTX580

-Corsair Vengeance 8 GB memory.

One last question,

Right now, windows 7 is installed on the system I want to put it in but the raptors got XP on it. Can I just format it in a different PC than put in my current one and Win 7 will recognize it and I'll be able to configure it from within the OS?

Thanks a whole lot in advance for the help.

Super Meat Boy = 3,50,-
Lara Croft and GOL = 5,10,-
Darksiders = 7,50,-
Civilization IV complete pack = 6,24,-
Commandos complete pack = 2,99,-

Which makes 25,38,- euro

The first 3 were high on my wishlist.
I hadn't expected Darksiders to go for so low so I'm really happy with that one.
I bought the complete Civ IV pack after someone on this forum mentioned it was so cheap even though it wasn't a daily deal
I read on the Steam Commandos forum that patches are available for the loading/saving bugs that plaqued the first two games.
Those games are brilliant so for 2,99,- they were already in my cart.

I couldn't be more satisfied actually. I was planning on spending around fifty euro.
I'm still eyeing the complete Tropicos 3 pack, Machinarium and Napoleon: Total War as a daily deal would be nice too.
If Assassin's Creed I goes on sale for 75% I'll buy it. Right now it's 20, same as AS Creed II (ridiculous)

BTW
It'sa nice feeling just to check the games on sale.
I love it that I own most of the games that I would have wanted already :)
Makes me feel satisfied...

For what it's worth, two Wiki quotes:

"Football has traditionally been regarded as the most popular spectator sport in Korea. Recent polling indicates that a majority, 56.7%, of South Korean sports fans continue to self-identify as football fans, with baseball ranked second at 19.1% of respondents."

But also...

"Gaming forums around the world commonly refer to the computer game Starcraftas the national "sport" of South Korea, due to the fact it is televised more than any other sport in South Korea."

With the amount of info you provide it could be anything.

Drivers/program settings/hardware problems (microphone), etc...
