Off topic, but nevertheless: remember the rumors that Ninja Theory would be announcing a new game soon, and that it would be a PS4 exclusive? Well, Ninja Theory just confirmed they are announcing a new IP at Gamescom. Other details aren't available yet, though, as to what it might be or for what platform.
I never played this before, being a 360 convert, and I had high hopes going in.
Needless to say, I put it in, and got sucked right in from the very start, shocked that 4 hours just went by! I didn't realize how stealthy it was, and I like it a lot. Grim and survivalist, looting scraps of junk for basic shivs. Analyzing environments and sometimes making split second choices on what to do. I love it. Characters and writing are stellar. The details in the environment are the best I've ever seen, pictures and awards and other things hinting at what a person is into. And on one of my (cold and stern btw) first one on one chats with Ellie in the middle of a hallway in game, she tells me she can fend for herself, then casually pulls out a knife and cleans it.
Exploration is tense and I got utterly immersed in it and the environment. Total immersion.
I can't believe they shot Sarah. She never got to give her dad the birthday card she made for him. And now Joel has lost himself to time: forever cut off from her, holding her lifeless body in his arms no doubt the lasting image infused in his memory. Failing... to protect.
