Did anyone else notice this?

"It disgusts me," said Isaiah Triforce Johnson, a longtime gamer and founder of a New York-based gaming advocacy group that, in response to the accusations, is now planning what is the first ever gamer-driven peace rally.

He gave his middle name as Triforce. That's just awesome.  Bonus points on the unlikely chance that it actually is Triforce.

I've played the first two, the Flood are ultimately the most powerful force ever, they have yet to be defeated after two campaigns, can't say the same for the zerg...Spartan070

Hundreds of Flood warriors can't even kill one stinkin' hand-weapon-wielding Spartan super soldier, or one normal sergeant?  Zerg all the way. :)

The buildings and environments of Liberty City look great.  Now they just need to make it seem like more than 5000 people live in New York Liberty City.  This series never did quite nail that whole "big city" vibe.

I think they want to "prove" that they made the best decision in buying whatever it is they bought and don't want to hear otherwise.

If this is implemented, hopefully there will be an option to select which system you wish to play against.

Your thoughts?

Nemme

If it does get implemented, I'm fairly certain console players will get some degree of auto-aim to help compensate for their control scheme. And then lucid arguments such as "Controller >>>>> M&K", "AutoAim is for n00bs", "Turn off Auto-Aim!!!11!1one!", and "Paying for PC multiplayer sucks!!" will break out en masse.

edit: link didn't work for me

If the devs are good at coding, DVD9 will be fine for years.Spartan070
And if it doesn't fit they can always call the excess Downloadable Content and charge everyone for it! But they'd probably do that regardless...

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="Spag1091"]Hmm if i need to, I'll throw this into my PS3.... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2479473&CatId=525 120GB for $180.....hahKILLERJAK702KA

I do not believe that is compatible... :?

That looks like one of those normal PC ones. IIRC the PS3 is only compatible with 2.5" laptop HDD, which, are a lot more expensive.

for 92$ on newegg you can get a 160gb Laptop HDD 2.5inch for the ps3 which is significantlly cheaper than 180$ for the 120gb 360 HDD which i aint a ps3 owner but makes me mad at the fact that microsoft uses the same 2.5inch drives but wont let us upgrade and overprice these dam drives.

IIRC the PS3 takes SATA (serial ATA) notebook hard drives which are a bit more expensive than their IDE counterparts. This is the cheapest 160GB I found on newegg.  $110.28 shipped. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136071

Here's the LINK to its source;)

The fine folks at Sony have a nice promotion going on that could make buying a PS3 a little bit easier on the old pocketbook... Sign up for (and use) your new Sony credit card and you'll get a $100 credit applied to your card after your purchase. Of course, this credit can be applied to any gear you might want, but the PS3 is clearly begging for this. It makes the PS3 "Elite" a steal at $499 bucks! Take that Xbox 360 Elite. You'll also get: 0% Introductory APR and No Annual Fee Full Platinum Visa benefits 5 Sony Rewards Points per $1 spent at Sonycom, Sony stores, and ImageStation.com * Exclusive members-only deals on Sony products Yawn. Just make sure to pay your newly minted debt off quickly or your PS3 might cost you way more than you bargained for.

SoulKillah

Here's the fine print of the offer: It takes 2-3 MONTHS to get the credit. No thanks.

Offer subject to credit approval. Card credit will be applied to your Sony Card account 8-12 weeks after your first purchase. Offer expires May 31, 2007. First purchase must be made by August 31,2007. In some instances an application may require additional processing, in which case Instant Credit will be unavailable. When you are approved for the Sony Card, you will receive your account and CVV2 number on-screen. Please make sure to make note of your account and CVV2 number as this information will not be available until you receive your card in the mail. If you are approved, you will be able to make a one-time purchase at Sony****com only, with up to a maximum line of credit of $5,000. Additional purchases with this account cannot be made until your card is received in the mail.

[QUOTE="buuzer0"][QUOTE="exl40"] This seems a little flawed. Why would you get an additional 60GB plus enclosure for a PS3 when you can just get a 120 for $98 at newegg.com and throw it into the PS3 directly? And $110 for a headset??? That's nuts. Using more realistic prices here's what I have: PS3 + headset + component + monoprice hdmi (shipped) + newegg 120 gb hd (shipped) 600 + 50 + 23 + 9.3 + 98.3 = $780.60 Elite + HD-DVD + WiFi gaming adapter + Play and Charge + Live 480 + 200 + 83.15 + 20 + 40 = $823.15 So if you give a crap about feature parity and HD movies, PS3 would be for you. If you just want to play some freaking games, buy whatever the hell system has the games you want to play. If you are reading this thread, chances are that's the Xbox 360.

See, a problem arises when you start changing out for the cheaper version. I thought the chart showed a decent price comparison between the two for showing how much it would cost when putting them on an even playing field out the box. Once you start picking and choosing accessories and discounts, you will go in circles forever. You could have also picked the cheapest 360 wi-fi (wireless G on ebay), take away the play&charge (rechargeable batteries + charger is cheaper) and you have another comparison to make.

True, the parts and vendor choices available for both sides make this virtually impossible to pin down in terms of price. However, using obviously overpriced itmes seems unfair as well. This can go either way (e.g. X360's wifi or the PS3's headset). I wasn't trying to place a definitive price on either of the two consoles, I was only pointing out that the original was somewhat unrealistic. But in the end, this really depends on the person making the comparison and what makes sense for them. On a separate note, it's unfortunate wifi is not included. Yeah, not everyone needs it, but not everyone needs HDMI, either. WiFi certainly would have given more credence to the console's "Elite" moniker. My conspiracy theory side is telling me that the margin on the $99 (!) wifi adapter is just too good for MS to pass up. Just as the high margin on the PS3's $60(!) HDMI cable is too good for Sony to pass up. These companies talk about giving us choices when the don't include certain things. They're really just hoping you choose to buy their overpriced, high margin accessories. This is great for businesses; not so much for consumers.
