most of the special weapons include quests...or mark hunts... but you will easily beat the game without them... just level up enough and buy good stuff...
if you like stealth action... try Hitman Blood money and maybe Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (best on my opinion) and if you like rpgs go for FFXII and Dragon Quest 8... those are pretty good
