Well, I'm never going to see my favorite teacher again :cry:!!!! Today, I gave him my awesome gift! It was a red T-shirt with "BAND ROCKS" on the front and on the back it says "Mr.__" and, like a baseball shirt, it has a big 1 on the back under his name! He really loved it :D.

Today was also my final day of this grades band. Mainly to keep us from crying over him leaving, Mr.Zool thought of some very clever distractions. First, he gave us Mountain Dew and a LOT of plain sugar cubes! The band went nuts :P! Then, we went outside and played "Red Rover". I know that sounds like a little kids game, but it was fun just because everyone was there :P. That's all we really did in band today!

After school, I got Mr.Zool to sign my T-shirt before he left. He signed "Big Daddy Mr.S." on it :P. It was hilarious! After that, since my friends (who are in band) and I wanted to spend as much time with Mr.Zool as we can before he left, we stuck our faces in the window of the library (where he was at) and just made funny faces at him. Then, he came out and showed us a trick. And guess what? I was the target! Mr.Zool's words to me were, "You are running through the forest," he was moving his hands in the corner of my eyes to give me the allusion. "Faster and faster you run, when suddenly I call your name! You turn to the side to see what the noise was and.....BAM! You run into a tree!" And that is when Mr.Zool smacked me in the forehead! It hurt! But, it was sooooo funny! :P

After that, my friends and I just talked to him the rest of the time and had a really nice time. When we had to leave, we gave him a hug, told him good-bye, and then I took a picture of him because he wasn't in our year book because he missed the picture taking days. I just want to remember him. He was definitely my favorite teacher I have EVER had! :D

Tomorrow, May 16, 2008, is going to be the last day Mr.Zool will be my teacher :(. He is moving to a new school in my state to be a band director (like he is now). I am sooooooo upset :cry: :cry: :cry:!!!!!!! Tomorrow, I am soooo going to cry my eyes out :cry:!!!! I really don't want him to go, but he has a good reason to leave.

The only time I will see him again is when he comes to our band concerts! I've only had him for a year and I feel like he's one of the best teachers that I have ever had! But, I got him an awesome gift!

I am going to miss him sooooo much :( :cry:!!!!!!!!! I just really wish him good luck and I also wish the best for him :)

Today was just like one of the best days ever! I nailed my audition for Jazz Band! :D Mr.Blond said that he was very impressed and I sounded really nice! He just told me that if I want to keep sounding that good that I have to roll my bottom lip in farther and that I have to firm up my embrasure. I did soooo good. Goody, who is like one of the best Saxophone players for someone who has only been playing for 2 years, helped Kayla and I out a lot! :D

In other great news....FINALS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!! It's so cool! They are finally over! But, they were really hard and I don't think I did too well on them :(

Tomorrow I have 2 field trips! One is in the morning and then the other one is the Band Banquet! One the Band Banquet field trip, we are having a banquet (duh) of hot dogs,burgers,chips,cookies,and all sorts of other good stuff :D Then, we are having awards and games! And to top that all off, we are going swimming,ice skating, and playing Basketball! It is going to be soooo cool! I am sitting with my friend Popcorn on the bus and Hyper and Quiet will be sitting either in front of us or behind us!

AHHHHHHH!!!!! Jazz Band Audiotions are tomorrow for Wood Winds! I am soooooooooooo nervous! You get in if you audition, but you can get down to a certain level. Like, for me, it's either Alto 1 or Alto 2 (if you don't know what I'm talking about with the "Alto", I'm referring to the Alto Saxophone, which is what I play). I'm not for sure which one is better. But, I am so nervous, I can hardly stand it. Plus, I have to wait until 2:45 for Mr.Blond or Mr.Zool to come in and do us. I hope it's Mr.Zool because I feel more comfortable to play for him, just because he's my band teacher (I'm not saying that I don't like Mr.Blond), so now, all day long, I will be really, really, really nervous!

Another thing that's going to bug me is that I can play B1, B2, and B3 of the Alto Sax Jazz Audition parts, but I can't play B4 and I bet that will be one of the biggest factor of the whole audition! How messed up is that!

People tell me that I shouldn't be nervous because I've been 1st chair basically the whole year! But, I really am! I'm trying to calm myself down though!

Yesterday, May 8, 2008, was my school's band concert! First, a flutist played her flute and then a group of other kids performed. My group (of over 70 people) played Eagle Summit March, Galatic Episode, When The Saints Go Marching In, and Sousa Spectacular! We all sounded awesome! It was so great to finally get all of the pressure off our our backs! The disappointing part was that we rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed, it it was all over in like 10 minutes! But, I had a LOT of fun and it was just amazing sounding! I bought the CD of the band concert so I can listen to out great performance!

Well, that is all for now!
