The series is still massively popular, so why not?

Maybe the veterans of CoD are sick of it all by now, but new players are being introduced to it all the time. Players come, players go. The wheel turns.

I've never played a CoD game before, and I am loving BLOPS II.

Let's give this machine a chance...it may not be for you, but it'll find it's market.

If a gamer who falls into the 1% affected by the bug and can prove it, then that person should be reimbursed.

But regardless, even if it affects just 1% of gamers, then someone through no fault of their own is suffering for it, and why should they?

The developer should suck it up and fix the patch 100%...in my industry, if our work is even slightly faulty, my firm has to suck it up and fix the product, even if it means we make no money on the project.

That's business.

In my experience, game piracy (and piracy in general) is not so much a question of ecoinomics, as it is of personal ethics. I know at least two people who make very decent money, yet they pirate everything they can get their hands on.

If we lok back at the golden age of gaming, the 8-bit and 16-bit era, it was a lot more limited in terms of types of games to play.

Basically, you had your side-scroller platform games and fighting games (Until SF2 changed all that with 1v1 fighting) and space shooters. RPG's weren't exactly in plentiful supply. Beyond that, there wasn't a whole lot to get excited about.

We remember classics like Mario and Sonic and Street Fighter, but forget all the doezens and dozens of lifeless and crappy titles that ripped them off. Just like today, the most popular genres back then were cloned to death.

Today, we have literally every kind of game we can think of out there. It's not just FPS games at all. We have motion-based games, rythmn-based games, simple flash games, huge and complex open-world games and everything in between. If people still love their side-scroller platfrom games then XBLA has plenty...or you could get an emulator for your PC and play the old classics.

The industry today may seem somewhat generic at times, but if one really thinks about it, it always has. The 8-bit and 16-bit era, beyond a few genuinely ground-breaking games, probably (no, definitely) had less innovation than we have now.

Beyond the current gen, we have the upcoming WiiU and the next Xbox/PS to look forward to. Look also what John Carmack is trying to do with head-mounted displays. Who knows in what new ways all these new technologies will allow us to have a new or different experience?

I think this is a fair and balanced review.

I have not quite finished the game yet, but I've played 10 hours so far, and while I'd be tempted to give the game an 8, it's really splitting hairs a bit. I

The game is a lot of fun, especially the web-slinging parts outdoors and it's extremely stylish overall, but the boss fights (or the boss fights I've had) have been mostly anticlimactic and too easy.

No justice was done to poor Rhino at all, imo.

But still, I think the core elements are in place for Beenox to really do something great with a sequel. This is much more in line with what a Spider-Man game should be than the previous two releases.

Many good points against digital downloads have been raised so far, so I'm just adding another vote strongly against digital only downloads.

If it happens, I'm looking for another hobby.
