The thread starter has aleady made his choice, and I'd have also gone for the Witcher, especially after putting a ton of time into Obivion already. Besides, Geralt is one of the coolest game characters around...
The Witcher is a game you really should play. I can't reccommend it highly enough. I'm a fan of the Total War series and again I'd reccommend you pick up the latest one which is Napoleon Total War. The older ones are excelent too, but make sure you patch them first because they're quite buggy.
