O.K. Flame Warning:

Poor Performance? Sure you could google your problem and find a solution, or you could moan on a forum. How many of you went to Tweakguides before making these claims. *waits......*waits........Oh, I forgot, that requires reading AND an attention span. My apoligies for the rhetorical question.

/obnoxious rant

Seriously though, great site:

Update: Kaz's guides have pictures, all is not lost.

When I pay money for a game, I don't want to have to go to different sources to optomize it. I just purchased the product, it should be well-developed enough that it should run without various guides to tweaks.

Oh, and before being condescending towards everyone else in the thread, check your own post. You do a *waits....*waits..... for a self-described rhetorical question. Nice job waiting for an answer there...

You see, when developing a game, you can't optimize it for every system out there. Even if people have the exact same hardware, their systems can run the game completely different. Most games need to be tweaked in the config files to get the best performance you can get while looking good.

A few months ago I had a very crappy system. My specs were a 128 radeon 9600, 2.24 pentium 4, and a gig of ram. I played Stalker on medium settings with static lighting, and I never really had many problems with the game. Everyone told me it's only running fine because I can't run dynamic lighting. Even after I switched the a 7600 GT and no other upgrades to my computer, I ran it fine on medium high with dynamic lighting, yet people with 7800's/8800's and dual core processors along with 2 gigs or more ram were struggling.

If you start up the game and go to multiplayer, it will get the patches you need automatically.

What are you system specs?

Also, it could be overheating or having the wrong drivers.

The game was inspired by Roadside Picnic and Stalker.

This has been known for ages, so yeah... ever play a ww2 game? They so ripped off reality!

A lot of games are available on some sort of digital purchasing like steam or direct 2 drive. I don't really know any other way of getting games legally if all you can find is pirated goods.

That system is more of a home or office computer.

Chances are you should just build a computer from scratch, or go to a website that lets you "build" one online by selecting parts.
