okay its time for the FF8 review......

FF8 is the 8th installment of the FF series and the expectations were very high. Can it be better than its past predeccesor FF7. Of course being the next game , it had sold a lot more games..This game has sold more copies than any game in the FF series. It had sold more than $50 million in the US alone and it keeps growing. This game has a lot of mixed feelings about it. Though its story was better than FF7, its gameplay was its small lowlight. The story and the new and amazing graphics that exceeded even FF7's was its real highlight. Though most people liked FF7.....this game is still a game of its own and is still a great masterpiece..

Story= 10/10

The best part about this game is its wonderful story. Its story is even better than FF7 and FF7 story was great. This was ofcourse better than great. It was a long complex story with lovable and unforgettable characters. I must say FF8's story is the best story in RPG history. It is captavating and it is great. Combined with amazing FMVs the story got even better. Its story will keep u in the edge of ur seat.

Gameplay= 8/10

Its lowlight is its gameplay. Though fun it was very complex and u will spend a lot of ur time drawing magic. Sometimes it will just piss u of and if u use ur magic against enemies u will get weaker if that magic was junctioned to u. Of course it was still fun. The best part about its gameplay is probably the limit break. This time u could actuall just use a magic to use it without waiting along time for it to fill up. Also the summons in the game are a spectacular thing with a new feature called boost. This time u could actually do something while u watch the stunning entry. Of coursesome of the cutscenes were so long that u just want to fast forward it.

Graphics= 10/10

Wow! to sum it up in one word it woluld be "breathtaking" It was just so stunning. I have never seen such richly detailed graphics. Plenty of changes were done from the past two years. It was so awesome. The FMVs are to die for. It was so good. So detailed and they look close as real. When the character moves, his/her hair moves and it seems as though they were like walking for real. Even in its rough form it was good. The magic and summons were spectacular. A truly must see. It was one of the best graphics ever seen in PS.

Sounds= 8/10

I have to say that the sounds were great but probably not as great as FF7. The sounds in the FMVs were great but the in battle sounds were just like any other game. The main theme song in FF8 was Eyes on me. It was a good song but kinda annoying. Faye Wong sang the song which made the game even more popular. Voice Actings shouldve been put in this game. Seeing the FMVs were their mouths move but no sounds came out of it. If they put voice actings it would truly make its beautifully done FMVs even better.

Longetivity= 10/10

This game was pretty much longer than FF7 but its sidequest were pretty much optional and it was pointless. So pretty much its longetivity was as long as FF7. This game expanded in 4 disc which was more than FF7. Some sidequest though like the Triple Triad was fun and sometimes u will get some nifty items which made this game even longer. I have to say this is one of the longest game in PS if u do most of the sidequests.

overall= 9.2/10.....fabulous game but it had some pretty noticable flaws

Greatest game ever....hmmm....too overrated huh?....but FF7 is one of the best games in PS thats for sure...This game exceeded in every possible way...In its rich beautiful 3D graphics that no one has ever seen to its addictive gameplay...This game sure is one of the best games ever...of course not the best game in other people's perspective..FF7 not only did change the gaming world but made the RPG very popular. This was the first FF game that ever hit America and it hit with a storm. So lets start the review hall we..........

Story= 9/10

Wow......This game has not only a great gameplay but a really great story. Best to ever hit the gaming world in its time. FF7 sory is wats seperated it from those typical japanese RPG. The story will want u hungry for more that u can't stop playing and will keep u very addicted...Of course its gameplay wont hurt either. The story is just so brilliant. If u decribe FF7's story in one word it would be "perfection"........

Gameplay= 10/10

Ahh...the gameplay...This is wer it truly shines. Its gameplay is absolutely brilliant. Why hasnt it been thought earlier on. Its just so addictive and so well done that u would play countless hours with this game. The materia concept is so good. Its easy to learn and it doesnt tire out. Even at the end of the game u would want more. Everything about it is great and would never bore u out...It just keeps getting better and better as time passes by. Who said u cant improve on perfection?......

Graphics= 10/10

Just wow!! Its so wonderfully done..This has got to be the best graphics in its time. The fully detailed and 3D backgroung and characters are aa must see. No game could ever compete with this graphics in its time. Good thing Square decided to switch to Ps or we will have a 2D game. The FMVs of the games are even better. The FMVs are rich vibrate, so detailed. The more u play this game the better the stuff that u see is. Once u see the strong magic and the summons u will just be amazed. Of course wat would a game be without its sound.....

Sounds= 9/10

I loved the music in this game. It goes well with the game. The battles/fmvs are synchronized with the music perfectly. Nobou sure made some great things. The higlight of the music is Nobuo's One Winged Angel and Aeris' Theme

Longetivity=10/10

Wow is this game long. But this is a good thing. This isnt ur typical 8 hour action game..This will last. It takes about 50-60 hours to finish but of course this game has some wonderful sidequest that is a must which makes this game even longer. The great thing about FF is how long this last. Even if u finish this game u will still want to play it. This game will truly last.

Overall: 9.6......truly a great game
