I have a 120gb HDD and I install all the games I play frequently on it for a few reasons. Mainly for the fact that it stops the disc from spinning (less noise,) increases load times, and is easier on the system.
I rented it for just playing the light stages, but it will get to the point where you have to play the werehog stages over and over again to get more tokens that allow you to play more light stages. It's a horrible game, even the Sonic Adventure like light stages aren't worth it.
Its going to be my first PSP, so for me, yes since I would much rather have a more portable PSP and not have to deal with UMDs. One of the main reasons I never got an old PSP was just the size, I would hardly call it "portable"
I say do it. I was a primarily 360 owner until October of last year where I was in the same situation as you and bought a PS3 due to wanting to play games like Little Big Planet, etc. You'll be able to see both strong points on each system and go into the System Wars forum and laugh at the people that take their love for once system so seriously.
You can always buy a memory card and transfer your stuff that way, though the seller should have given you a disc.FR3SH-RYM3S
Thats what I did. Buy a 512mb memory card, move your profile to that, then copy/move all your game saves from one harddrive to the card, then to the new harddrive. Once you're done moving the saves to the new harddrive, move your profile to the harddrive. Then go and download all the big pieces of DLC/Arcade games you have.
