If you read the book, the original ending would have been just as if not more silly. It worked well in the book but (spoilers) a scene with hundreds of CGI intelligent vampires would seem kind of silly in my opinionI Am Legend. Dear god the ending made me so mad.
Other than that I honestly can't remember a movie that just completely was ruined by the ending. I'm sure I've seen a few, but for the life of me I can't remember.
