PC gaming is not cheap, I'll admit that. I'm going to blow 2000 US$ on a new one sometime around late July or mid August. However, 1000 US$ should be enough to get a decent gaming computer that would run even Crysis acceptably. 2000 US$ should get you a machine that'll max out games for the next year or two. 2500 US$ or more is just plain overkill, likely for those who either play games at extremely high resolutions(no, not 1920x1080p, I mean 2560x1600!)or just want to show off.NamelessPlayer

Dude I'll give it to you. That is a ok system. But it's still far off from what I posted. You listed things that match but not on the same level. The CPU list on ebay is listed on that site for close to $500

Not quite, 2gb of ram ~$100 for 6400 or 800mhz, $80 for a 320gb sata hdd, case can be anywhere from $50 to around $200, and vista is $115 for an OEM version. The monitor and sound system depend on your budget.

Why are you even in this thread? Why seriously? You come in telling us to get 360s and PS3s , (Ironically Vandal has them both) and I will intime , we arnt all as well of as you to WASTE yes I said WASTE money on PREMIUM hardware that will be replaced with BETTER CEAHPER peices.

Example, you Quad Core Extreme is a WASTE, Penrys will blow it away, theres barely anything in the gaming industry that uses Quad Cores, and there is NOTHING that really needs them.

Dude im not rich. I just love seeing Games Maxed out. I know what it takes to do that. It's not $600. I've been playing PC games most of my life and I know it's not cheap. You want the best in the PC world? Get ready to pay for it.
