This 'solution' has already been implemented in China, with MMOs limited to three hours per day or something. You aren't the first to come up with this idea.

And it's an incredibly stupid idea.

Players don't want to be limited, and game makers want players playing their games. Who does want to limit us, then? The Government! Limiting how often people can play something they bought which they play in their own homes is totalitarian bull**** that has no place in a free country. Are smokers told how many packs they can smoke? Are drinkers only allowed to buy a bottle a day? Are nerds only allowed to spend so much time studying? Does the supermarket tell the fat guy he can't buy that third pizza?

I find the very idea of having a limit imposed on what I do in my free time with something I have payed for offensive. My property, my privacy, my posession, and no laws broken. No one has a right to tell me what to do under those circumstances.

And I say this as someone who experienced a severe EverQuest obsession from 2001 to 2004. I'm healthy and happy now, but I was once over 300lbs because all I did was play EQ all day. But those choices - the good and the bad - were mine to make. And while I may regret making some of them, they were mine to make.

As for the everyone's equal rationale, that's also stupid. Why should I have to suffer because little timmy can't play past his 7Pm bedtime. People aren't equal, and treating people equally is ridiculous. If everyone was exactly the same, which is apparently what you want, our species would have died off long, long ago - and deservedly so.

first i dont think that 3 hours feels limited,and what do u mean by suffering? does it means that playing 3 hours a day is suffering?ok i guess it means that u play alot dont u? (give me a good answer to these in general)

and why ur sticking to online games that much? there are alot of consoles u can play ps2,DS,xbox or what so ever,so just go there and play them as u want

and about the somking,drinkers,etc i dont think i need to answer this,cuz i dont know any way up untill now to help in these things,but if i feel i can (like this one) then i will try my best to help

They have time resitrictions on World of Warcraft in China I believe... doesnt stop them playing, they jsut use multiple accounts isntead.... which is even worse.PC360Wii

People dont like restrictions,even paying for game is enough to keep you away from it,and its not like they cant just quit it.

Takeing in consideration that you cannot put lets say 3 hour limit,what if player was in middle of important battle and game stops playing just when he was about to kill boss that would piss me off and i would never play that game.

All in all,thats not really good idea

Games are meant to be fun and keep you away from wories like "ohh i must go and play than and than,or that much" you just play it.. if you feel like playing whole day - ok its your decision noone can say you no (except parents)

i understand what ur saying man but lets say that its um... worldwide rule (like stealing and some others,as an example u know) that ppl cant play more than 6 hours a day,no body will say no cuz its a widely known rule,nobody can go against it

and if ppl made a schedule time,lets say that the limited time is 3 hours as u said,u can play 1 hour pvp,1 hour a fighting monsters and so on,and if it was an important battle as u said,its ok to take the whole 3 hours just for it cuz everyone with u only have the same fixed time(anyway the boss wont take 3 hours cuz the game will be made only to play it for 3 hours) and besides 3 hours isnt an enough time anyway

And about saying - who plays more is bether

Of course,person who plays more actualy "secrefices" its time for "ingame level/statistics" so its sacrefice they make to actualy be best.

Same is with lets say basketball player,who plays and trains whole day to be best. its not like he is restricted to play so other can be good as him. Others dont train lot - never going to be best easy as that

i thought for a limited time cuz its only a game that bothers ur eyes and ur back and makes u like a nerd,not like a basketball,basketball doesnt hurts the body as the PC does (correct me if i am wrong) it would actually be great if ppl played basketball instead

it's to make each game give each player a limited time to play the game.

i know i seems out of the blue as they say,but lets try to adjust it to any game lets say like wow,there are MILLIONS of wow addictive players around the world,playing TONS of hours without stopping,and i know alot of those millions want to get rid of this problem but they cant,so why dont the game itself from the inside give each player a limited time to play the game? so every player in the world will feel satisfied because they will say (it cant be helped,its a rule that each person in this world follows) and from another side,nobody's lvl will go higher than his friend's lvl because in online games alot of ppl lvl up quickly because their friends plays alot so they cant keep up with their lvl except if he plays alot of hours like him (and they dont really wanna play too much) so if all of them played the same limited time then this problem is deleted:P (i am sure that this solution has alot of advantages like these) so what does everybody here says?

yeah dont worry at all! i bought Guild Wars NightFall before about 2 weeks (and i am comepletely new to the game) and its really GREAT! full of ppl (here is the answer) and u dont ever get bored if u are in a decent and a good guild (make sure u get one quickly,dont worry the community is great!) u can reach the highest lvl quickly cuz its only 20 lvls,and lets see...the pvp is a storm actually (u will be addicted to it hehe) and i hope i told ya everything important :)

P.S.!!!buy the NightFall campaign,because as i heard that the other 2 campaigns are dead,and if u want i prefer you buy the Eye Of North Expansion with the nightfall campaign,if u liked the game ALOT!
