Thats not the only reason people root for teams it's also for pride not the same for consoles. And another reason why to root for a hometeam is to get them pumped up and ready to play i mean if you were playing a sport and everyone was booing you i doubt you would do so hot, also when your team wins it's good for the area its in, it helps businesses and attracts tourist. For the Nba Finals people around the world came to cheer on either LA or Orlando this brought tons of tourist and tons of money for san diego. The competition for consoles i don't think it's healthy lots of cussing instead of making valid points and trying to see from the other side. It might be healthy or the people might be joking calling people retards might just be a huge joke i just don't see it.meh...its like saying why do people root for different teams, its because its just because ur a fan of it..nothing wrong with some healthy competetion
