If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Yeah, let that soak in.:P
think of it this way, out of all three companies who gets the most media coverage even with e3?
and besides it's not like we arent getting anything this year
Link: Read the interview, the reason why Nintendo went toward "casuals" isi at the bottom of the page.
"I think that there's probably one other element to it, and that's that our view of how we use E3 has changed. For a very long time, E3 was an event where - and certainly Nintendo included - catered specifically to the core gamer. Now we look at more ...an opportunity for us to introduce new concepts and new types of play that we intend to bring to the broader audience, particularly because of the media that gathers at E3 now.
So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we're still working on many of those titles, but it's just not the type of event where we'll be showcasing that anymore."
I'm suprised no one has seen this yet.
Nintendo Wii Speak
"All this voice chat was happening courtesy of the USB "Wii Speak" microphone, placed on top of the sensor bar of the demo Wii. What was impressive was that, in a loud room filled with the sounds of many people enjoying their demos, the speaker was able to pick up my voice from around ten feet away as I talked to Mario in a normal speaking voice. I had a comfortable conversation with Martinet, and we had no problems hearing each other or understanding what the other person was saying, even in these less-than-ideal circumstances. In other words, the Wii Speak speaker is a pretty nifty piece of tech."

If this is as good as they are saying it is. I wouldn't be suprised if we used it as a gameplay element. i.e. voice controlled pikmin.

That is not the LoZ. Zelda has Link in their games.
I proclaim this a unanimous FAIL.

OMG... how can anyone say this is crap and a failure?
If this is not a fake, and if nintendo fans would react like that I wish they don't announce this at all, they should just make the game so fans wouldn't spoil this great idea.
Why would you want to have another mute Link and the same story all again?
Of course the classic zelda plot is very appreciated and still valued. But new horizons, such as this project, will put the series into another market and a vast new world full of new things and with more options and choices for you to make and live as you please within this world. I think this game would be great, and it will use the full potential of wii's hardware. I expect a vast world full of side quests and a hero with a great personality.
i agree, and if this is true it would greatly increase the Hyrule mythology and expand this world that is already shrouded in mystery
wow, I guess IGN kinda saved the day so to speak
oh and thank you guys for posting this its really helpful to everyone
What people seem to be forgetting is that Nintendo's market strategy is to get the new gamer first and then get those gamers to "graduate" from the "casual" games and move on to the more structured game. This was already proven when Nintendo released Nintendogs(which sold really well) and then months later New Super Mario Bros. which sold really well because of that new demographic. Once Nintendo is satisfied with its new found customer they will move on to more sophisticated games. So it may seem like they are aiming at the expanded audience, well, that's because they are. and when next year rolls around we are going to see more sophisticated games.
