Given the comments of the reviewer, it would seem he is not aware of the fact that this game is part of a trilogy of games, the next two parts being worked on as we speak. The "lack of effect in decisions' he found and ending are probably due to this fact.
In any case this is the first part of a much longer story, and two more games. So far, I am enjoying every moment.
"practically nothing is coming out"?? Danny, I know you work for CBS (Gamespot's parent company), and thus promote sponsors and AAA titles, but come on. To say nothing is coming out is simply not true.
For example, the end of this month marks the release of what very well could be one of the best games of 2014 (raised 3.4 million on Kickstarter) Broken Age.
Next week (another game that raised money from Kickstarter) The Banner Saga, a Vikings game, turn based combat (X-com style) with a unique hand drawn art style.
METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE comes out next week on Steam. Yes I know it's a PC port, but it's the first in the MG series to reach PC and will probably do very well, as well as bring in an audience that doesn't normally play these games.
Assassin's Creed: Liberation. Also comes out next week (to Xbox, PS3, PC) and is also a port (from Vita in this case). But it has been redesigned and it is an AC game so it will probably do very well, and it may even be fun to play.
In truth, I am yet to play any of them even though I own all of them. I'll have to do something about that. But not until I play and finish Broken Age!
