I just got done watching a few game play videos of EA's upcoming Medal of Honor series revitalizer. Its production and design are orbiting the idea of realism, gritty realism, without the game-y feel noticeable through the company's main shooter franchise Battlefield. I do not mean to propose that battlefield is not an excellent quality sandbox shooter, only that the company's newest endeavor seems to be much of what shooter fans have been receiving on the xbox console for years now. Just like to spur some commentary on what this game could possibly offer, that would shed light on the potential problem I see through its comparable looks and feel of other games. Going to acknowledge the elephant in the room, with MW2 still attracting shooter fans, and IW's upcoming BlackOps. Is the release of EA's new game a true lack of respect for innovation?

Never played the first fable..

But I can say that from playing the second I did think it had alot of potential. But in the end there lacked an endgame and meaning. Why was I buying all these houses and swooning all these love infatuated women?

Fable would be 1337 if they dedicated the servers.. Add way more housing and quests, and cap servers off at like 200-300 pop.

You got to remember that we are playing through the bodies of trained ,military professionals. Here is a simple metaphor. The reason why there is no recoil is because you are actually playing as Chuck Norris. You think Chuck deals with recoil? No way, he can unload 30 round mag with no recoil or tensing of muscles. Seriously though. The only gun in MW2 with noticeable recoil is the AK47, and no one uses it. I think every gun should have noticeable recoil, so that you have to adapt to a burst fire shot instead of going full auto from across the map.

1 shot kills with sniper (Intervention/Barret)FriendlyAC130

What do you mean? Like CS AWP style, where a shot in the foot would kill you?

I think any shot from the waist up from a sniper rifle should be a single shot kill.

MMOs blur the lines between work and fun. I use to be an avid MMO fan, and then wow came out. The cartoonist avatar, and attack/spell animations give it childish appeal. MMOs should be an young adult/adult gaming community, yet blizzard adapted a lot for kids too it seems. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much competition for WOW. Instead there is wide variety of companies conforming to the equation they adapted. Which is a more casual and less hardcore community. If you like MMOs, there isn't a substitute in consoles. However consoles games offer a variety of similar status based achievements, and promotions depending on the game. You just have to find the one that fits your niche.

That could be easily rectified by customizing a dude for every faction... But I doubt that would fix MW2. Maybe it was the wash of glitches that plagued match after match. But the game has definitely lost some of its luster in my eyes. Fix it? I would implement more useful perks... I feel like all my classes can be summed up as having the same three overall perks: Scavenger, Stopping Power, and Commando, plus a few with Ninja or CB'd. Maybe that's just my playing style, but I don't see much benefit in many of the other perks, unless you feel like sacrificing sheer power, for stealth.

I think its worth noting that they are implementing a great game mechanics for encouraging team work. In only a few hours of demo play I noticed way more team play than anything I've become accustom too. At any rate, try and catch some of the BC2 PR releases, a lot of them mention the capability for a well-oiled squad of four to be more than capable of changing the tide of battle for a 12 on 12 match. I like the sound of that. No way its a ripoff, BF started the implementation of classes way before other genres, which is the foundation for any party/squad/teamwork based game.

If this game was around 20 bucks, and came with a free predator t-shirt I'd consider buying it. Felt like I was playing some wicked old game N64 game.

@kaos - Thats what really set it apart for me... How much more I enjoyed this demo, in comparison to the full MW game I've had for months. It pretty much is a slap in the face to any gaming organization when another competitor can release a demo that is more enticing than a full fledged game.

The fast paced action differential between these games is a misconception. The fact is, that the closer a map is, the more it pushes you to act instantaneously. Larger scale maps don't mean any less fast paced action. All it means is that you're required to implement more strategy as to how you'll tackle that extra meat of land you have to cover. The pot of gold is still at the end of the rainbow. We're not dealing with apples and oranges. These are both FPSs. However more tactile strategy and patience is required to achieve that same level of domination factor, where you get the opportunity to cap 5 dudes at once.
