Good call. Have you practiced using an exploits? (aerial grapples/orion's harpoon *infinite*, homeruns, high jumps, etc.)

the-creeper

Yeah after i watched your vids i practiced alot of arial grapples *infinite*. I've gotten good at kicking off the combo, harpoon off the bounce and if anyone gets near i just into an arial grapple. The arial grapple cam inhandy with the damn 3 headed dogs. Bounce on em like a trampolean lol. I also practiced the extra high jump which came in handy a few times. I pulled off the arial madusa head just cuz like ya said its fun ;). Im definately honing my skills, Im doing better on some of these parts in the NUR they i did in my first run :D

~What sort of run are you doing, Elf?InfernoPirate

Just running a regular NUR on GM. Figured i didnt have much issues running the game in normal but figured a jump straight to NUR+ on GM would of big a big leap. So i just started a NUR.

*update*

Last i stop playing i collected posiedon trident and the 2 muse keys.

Good advice creepr. ya know the first time i ran through this game i never used any grapples. I got good qith combos and timing so did it that way. Now im mixing that with uses of the aerial grapple and it makes fights much more managable. I also made me a nice itunes playlist for when i play ;) Helps me concentrate. I stopped playing yesterday right before i get the power of zeus.

Some vids with exploits/tactics:

Orion's Harpoon-Aerial Grapples *for examples of it mixed with masterful use*

NOTE: Early on you see me using the triangle starter FAST. Reason being that rolls cancel the normally slow startup of that starter making it a great way to catch a large number of enemies or at lvl3+ BoC you can get an incredibly fast "Spirit of Hercules" combo out

High Jump-Petrification Tricks *if you were looking for ways to evade some things*

Hydra Fight - Boss Minotaur *dark*

"Homerun techniques" - Shinobier using "Punt" expertly to PWN the 11 Hades Satyrs

~In my first time I only used grapples for the purpose of cool kills. I later learned the ups/downs of each in my first God Mode run. During the God Mode NUR I noticed the specific advantages of abusing/exploiting them all.

---Mastering petrification helps in places. Sirins for intance are good evaders and break out of their statue form in a second but just ONE hit will shatter them if you can get that opening.

Nice... I never would of thought of using the pop up for extra jump space.

*Update*

Dunno if anyone ever tried this but it came to me when i got to this part in the game. When you heading to go get the power of zeus you come across the crossbow that you have to push into the room and spin it to use. When you open the door legionare come out of the ground. Before opening that door i pushed the cross bow infront and once i opend the door i pushed it in to block them in. You dont have to push it all that far in. They can inflict any dmg on you and you can safely rock them with combo after combo till they done or even use madusa power if u want to end it quick. I know there are tons of ways to handle this situation. This was the one i chose so there was no chance of taking dmg.

~That can work, and I was thinking about it, but it seemed kind of odd you know? 'Cause Elf is actually like a race/creature or whatever, rather than just a name.InfernoPirate

lmao... i was elf_assassin for like 12 years... been forsaken_elf for the last year or so. But most my friends just call me elf. Mostly becuase of my facination with the race

~To tell the truth at that point, *we need a nickname for you too forsaken_elf*, I generally just skip them. You can immediately climb the next ladder and engage the cursed remains and minotaurs in combat, skipping those pesky gorgons.InfernoPirate

Man that is a good plan, cuz if i die one more time to those damn madusa's imma flip out lol. Well dunno what kinda nickname ya head in mind but everyone normally just calls me elf lol.

[QUOTE="forsaken_elf"]Yeah the Cursed Legionnaire... I found a way of dealing with them. The armored cyclops werent so bad for some reason lol. Right now i stopped playing at the part where you knock down the statue climb the head to the ladder and engage the 2 madusas. Those bastards are tricky if you cant get them together. Ya hit one and the other sneaks on ya *sigh*the-creeper

Use aerial grapples or Orion's Harpoon. It can be done to infinite (death) against many enemies. The Tactics/Tips thread covers all enemies/bosses. I just didn't do situational coverage.

~What's your way of handling Cursed Legionnaire? The Armored Cyclops are quite managable.

---Keep us posted

I roll ann evade until i get them lined up or huddled together. Once i accomplish that Sq,sq,tri pops them up in the air, once up there its all cake. use th longer of the square combo that ends with triangle. Cuases bigger dmg and pops them up for more ;)

[QUOTE="the-creeper"]

[QUOTE="AuthItalynGyrl"]Well thanks guys.. I appreciate the support. I think I'll try it in god mode first (non NUR). I'm doing well in GoW2 normal mode first run thru (ill update in the proper thread), point is.. I think I'm getting better as time goes by, the more I play. Doesn't hurt that hubby gives me some tactics as he watches me play.. and after watching him play his GoW1 God NUR and the strategies he uses.. I'm learning.. LOLAuthItalynGyrl

Is that so? He has done his own God Mode NUR? (GoW1) Sounds like a solid plan of action.

~I'll have to add him to the list then

Yes.. He is already in the process of his GoW1 God Mode NUR, I let him know when he gets a moment to come put in his updates.. Im sure he will soon.

Hey Guys whats up,

Ok so i finished GOW1 in normal mode without any issue. I think it took me a total of 4 days to do. I just love this game and had so much fun beating it. So i started my NUR in gode mode. At first i was a bit cocky and didnt realize the big damge the enemies inflict now. With such a low health its crucial to fight smart. The first part of the game wasnt that bad. Only difficulty was the guy on the net while climbing to the sea creature. Fighting the two little guys were time consuming since i spent more time blocking then anything else. I was amazed that i actually killed the bigger one up top with less effort than it took me to do it on normal mode. I used the pole for ever and with each missed bit i was use posidon rage and follow it up with a big combo and he went down fast.

Sadly i stopped playing after that for awhile. Other games in the house needed my attention . I started it back up last night and i just got to the docks of the next level. Here is where i ran into my first hard times. Those armored warriors take for ever to take down and any mistake in blocking or dodging is bad. Died a few times and here is where im halted.

Any suggestions?
