[QUOTE="fireandcloud"]i agree that demos are important. but if a game gets really good reviews, demo or not, i'm buying it.johnny27

thats what i did with bioshock so many good things said about the game so i thuaght i couldnt go wrong andi can olny say im disappointed and want my money back.

QFT

Bioshock, HL:2, Oblivion - all we're over-hyped. I was spared with Bioshock thanks to the demo. I was bitten by HL:2 - the first game I've ever pre-ordeded and it was a giant bore. I bought Oblivion, hated it, and ebayed it and came out about even. WOOT.

No demo? NO ******** SALE.

I'm guessing you are one of those kids who believes everything should be given to them on a silver f'ing platter.darkSIDEechoes

Read my messages in the anti-piracy thread and you will discover just how wrong you are, my dark-sided little pet.

franklinBluth....thanks for making me waste 10 seconds of my life by reading your worthless message you decided to send me. I see all your whining splattered on this thread. Let me humor myself further by asking...

Is there a point to the message? Is there a point to your reply to my previous comment?

I'm guessing you are one of those kids who believes everything should be given to them on a silver f'ing platter.

Only few things annoy me this much. No demo, no sale, Ex-girlfriends named Jen, people driving while texting (seriously, though...that's annoying)

Twin Peaks sucks, btw.

darkSIDEechoes

All credibility was lost. And "NO DEMO? NO SALE."

Jeez...I hate (yes, hate) everyone who believes in this No Demo, No Sale thing.

I followed Bioshock (minimally) before it's release. The demo came out and yeah, it was alright. Not exactly what I expected but it was enjoyable. The full game came out, beat it once, and now I can't stand hearing or reading it's title anymore.

I'm glad demos came out for Frontlines, Turning Point and Quake Wars because they are miserable pieces of crap.

However, I'm not upset at the games that didn't have demos such as STALKER, Gears (I don't think there was a demo atleast).

Pathetic awful idiots...spoiled little kids that have nothing better to do besides B*TCH about everything.

Oh, sorry...IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO \

*crying NO DEMO, NO SALE! crying more*

AND this poll is one-sided. Because you don't play a demo doesn't mean you're GAMBLING $50 on a game...do research or something! How hard is it to search '(random game) gameplay' on youtube?!?!

lol - you're a funny guy

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]I completely disagree, they should lower the prices or think of another way to do things. Piracy will not be stopped and IIRC the TC once admitted to pirating games. Gojuka

Completely agree. the average for a brand new game is £35 from Game. Now, if you take into account that in a few years time the gaming industry will be worth more than the music industry (as in CDs). Do you really think they can't afford to lower the prices even £5? hell, £10 would only cut their turnover by a wee bit, as then MORE people would buy the games. Whenever I show my friends a new game, they usually say "Ah, that looks awesome! How much will it be?" "About £35." "Hell to that."

LISTEN TO ME GAMING INDUSTRY! Do you REALLY need that much? Are you in competition with Bill Gates or something?

No, Gujuka. If the game is not worth the price - THEN DON'T BUY IT. That doesn't give you the right to pirate it.

As regards to benchmarks, I was not talking about benchmark programs.. For one even demos can't give you a clear idea on performance some times, I have gotten worse performance on a full game then on a demo before.. But thats besides the point.. The benchmarks I was speaking of was official ones done by numerous websites that post their results.. With games like Crysis, there were tons and tons of benchmarks by numerous sights pitting numerous set ups for it.. Those usually give a good idea on performance with out a demo.sSubZerOo

Bench marks give general guidance, but how a game will play on my particular configuration is an unknown until I've tried the demo.

The goal isn't to stop piracy, the goal is to reduce it. And what the TC does is irrelevant to the moral implications of copying other peoples' copyrighted hard work and creative output.

[QUOTE="franklinBluth"][QUOTE="sSubZerOo"]

Yeah I find it quite rediculous how borrowing a game from a friend is considered piracy.. Give me a break... If that is true, then there must 10x as much piracy on the consoles then there ever will be for the pc..

ElectricNZ

Hey Ice Man - the license is for the DISC, not the abstract game. Lending someone a disc and letting them play the game while they retain the disc is not piracy by anyone's definition, but I have to assume that you knew that. So what are you saying?

No, you are wrong.

When you buy the game, you are buying the right for you to play the game. Not the disc. Many games have EULAs / imprints on the disct that says you are not permiitted to lend the disc to anyone, that you can only install the game on one computer.

They consider it the same as pirating.

Proof for a CONSOLE game or it didn't happen.

heh, buddy listen to me right now, and don't let it leave your head, piracy will never end, and how you say we have no respect for dev's is completly wrong, I myself have used torrents for a long time, and i believe it is good source, but not the coolest thing to do.LostPlanetDB

So you say:

1. It's 'not the coolest thing to do' - I assume this is a euphism for 'it's immoral'

Then you say:

2. Piracy will never end.

Guess what, I agree. However, it's people like YOU who are the problem. You're wise enough to know what you're doing is wrong, but you lack the integrity to man-up and stop pirating. LAME.
