yes the battles are great.

but building your civilization from scratch is to :)

maybe your best option is buy civilization 4 complete edition and buy medieval 2 ( you can probably get those 2 for the price of empire ) and if you like medieval good enough you could always get empire later

Both are very difrent and both are great in theire own way.

I have all total wars and also the complete civ 4.

Personaly I think civ is the best turn based strategy ever made until now.

as for empire I am still not sure it's a good game but I don't think its the best in the series I liked medieval 2 mor with the castle sieges and stuf ( but that's personal taste I guess ) also empire still has some issues with ai I haved played it for a while because of this it's absurd that the ai didn't atack over seas in a game like this. (naval battels are great fun though )

but I would recommand you civ 4 with babarian invasion and beyond the sword

+ points 1 it has great multiplayer that can last for days if you have a good friend to play with.

2 it doesn't have bugs like empire has now.

3 lots of difrent times/advances and units to play with

the only good thing empire has are the graphics ( if you have a nice setup) and the real time battles but beside that it's much more shallow then civilization is

I don't get it why you guys defend xbl saying it's the best service out there.

what do they offer early demo's ?? wtf..... those things are even paid for by the distributors because it's advertisment for their game and hoping you will buy it.

so that would be a really stupid reason why to justify to pay for xbl.

let's see what do they offer....

omg you can chat even to people in a difrend game..... wow just wow what a briliant service this is.

wow nice microsoft points :) great then beside your xbl they can even get more cash out of you.....

to buy nice themes and avatars (that is really sad but hey you have to pay for them so they should be great.)

oh and a few small games. ( those are okay to pay for I guess )

srry as a pc gamer I can't see why you guys can justify paying for those things.

I agree it's nice they added a lot of features in one programm and that all games have to support it ( but that's normal being a console and not a open platform)

but I wouldn't want to pay for what they offer because I don't think they offer much anny way.

it's not like when you buy a xbox 360 you get a live card and you can plug and play ...... no you have to have a internetconnection through a provider 2.

so if you don't have a pc because you only want to play on that console you would also need a subscription at a internet provider ( so what does live really offer you ?? )

agree with above poster.

Definetly PENUMBRA.

I think it's one of the only games that gives such a tense atmosphere.
