Anyone help?

Hi, I have a few questions regarding the PSP batttery.
1) Firstly, regarding the term "Drain", does it actually mean to play a game on your PSP or using it to watch videos on your PSP etc, till the PSP displays the grey screen with the battery icon with a slash and powers off by itself? Is that what "Draining" is?
2) How to actually get and have a lot of battery life?
a. Is it like this - Once you have bought the new battery, put in the new battery into the PSP, play a few games, completely drain it, then letting it charge fully again? That is, for a brand new PSP battery ONLY for the first time charge?
or,
b. Do we drain the battery everytime we play games or use the PSP to watch videos, then letting it charge fully again?
I know (b) sounds a bit ridiculous as it would be like draining the battery on every usage, but I just like to find out which is the correct method. Would appreciate if anyone could also advise on how people actually charge their PSP battery in order for it to have extra juice and make it last in the long run. I'm using a PSP-2001, by the way.
Thanks!
It sounds like jimkabrhel is correct. From what I have read, fake memory cards don't last very long at all. Especially when writing over previous data.
Does your PSP load consistantly for things that don't require a memory card? Perhaps take out your memory card and try playing the game without saving (Obviously) and see if there is any difference. From what you have written, it sounds like all your problems come when the PSP tries reading/writing to the memory card, which is then most likely your problem.

It happened for the past few days, when I 1st bought my PSP and there wasn't such a problem. It shouldn't be my PSP, I suspect the problem lies with the memory card.
Yeah dude.. I have that exact same thing happening to my 8GB memory stick.. BUT mine is by sony.. I ordered it off of ebayTrogeton
Yours is a fake sony memory card, and what happened to me happened to you as well? So, how's the condition now? Did you get a new memory card or something, as in, try fiddling with it?
I dunno what is with my PSP. I have a SanDisk 8gb fake memory, for the past few days I dunno why at times my PSP wouldn't read my memory card, either that or it'll take a long time reading my memory card, and causing my PSP to hang halfway. When my PSP won't read my memory card it'll state "0 files", or something like that.
I played DBZ Shin Budokai, loaded my save file, fought a few battles and carried on with the storyline but sometimes the loading will take longer, causing my PSP to sort of, hang. It won't load fast like it always did.
Could this problem be due to my fake memory card? A friend told me his cousin has a fake memory card, and by having one he claimed that some games were unplayable.
It is ok to play a few games, completely drain the battery and charge, leave it overnight for 10hrs?
b) "Play a few games, completely drain the battery before charging, and charge it for 2hrs. For a brand new battery.
Option B can run overnight.

I seldom use the internet and wifi on my psp.
Turn off your wi-fi switch if you are not using the internet. Check your battery life with it turned on, and check battery life with it off.ChgoIn
Regarding charging a brand new psp battery, how do we charge it the actual and proper way? Someone actually told me,
a) "pretty straightforward, pop in ur new psp batt, charge it for 10hrs, normally i jus leave it overnite, next day morning wake up switch off, taa daa, done"
or, advised by my friend,
b) "Play a few games, completely drain the battery before charging, and charge it for 2hrs. For a brand new battery.
Option a) or option b) seems to be the actual method? I agree with Rurounisaiyajin that my battery life is abnormal. Do we actually charge the battery for 10hrs and leave it overnight for most electronics products? Especially when we just bought it?
What do u guys think?
When ur battery's flat, do u actually charge it for 2hrs, or rather, leave it overnight? When my batt's flat, I usually charge it for 2hrs and switch off the plug when the orange light goes off. Well, for now i'm gonna continue monitoring my batt and see how it goes 1st. If it worsens then i won't hesitate in getting a new battery, and right from the start i was already planning to get myself a new battery.
I have the Darth Vader PSP Slim and I can tell you that your battery life is abnormal. It's possible it could be in bad condition. But you also don't want to waste money on a new one until you're certain the battery is problematic. So I'd recommend giving it a few more tries fully charged and seeing how the battery life goes
