I've literally been in the "pits of online gaming hell" with Socom(s) back in the PS2 days. These were grown men (and women), most of them were married and some were even 40+. They had clans, a website "leaderboard" and it was just the utmost definition of the word "pathetic" I've ever seen in my life. The BS even spilled on to this website (and others made after) where the whole damn thing was split in two. He said this, she said that, who's side are you on? I phased myself out of there and also why I'm not very much into this "clan" thing anymore. I'll play with a set group of people, sure. But when these morons try to slap an obligation to "practice" and play "clan wars" 24/7, hell no. Never again. It's pure insanity. I try to "disperse" that mentality as best I can. Games are for fun and entertainment. It shouldn't be any other way.

As far as meeting them goes, no way in hell LOL Crossing that crap over into my personal life is not my cup of tea LOL

I think scores and leaderboards shouldn't have too much emphasis or wiped out all together. I think this whole "score" thing makes a lot of people real stupid in a sense that they act like they're border line suicidal because they lost a game or they have more deaths than kills. I think it sucks the fun out of online play when crap like this is 95% of what you come across. Especially with shooters. They treat and act like it actually means something in their *real* lives. It keeps logging me on and off; it happened to me, and 5 (out of 6) of my other online friends. I mean its logged me off before, but its only been like once and that was it, but its done it several times within a couple of minutes to all of us. Wtf?
