Well, it's gonna be difficult. Guild Wars has a much lower System Req than Bioshock. Take a look at that hardware guide and figure out what video card you'll need. Because for gaming, I daresay the video is more important than the CPU. and btw the 7900GS is around $140 so that's like right in the middle of the price range

You could always make him go on the computer and run AIM, Word and Some Firefox windows along with WMP

and say that's your desktop

and say "boy isn't this slow" because it probably will be.

And a new computer that will run Steam can be bought for like, say $499 + a cool widescreen monitor =)

I don't think so =/

Sorry. Most new games don't well run on non-portable desktop computers (aka "gaming" lappies)

Haha dude, I was about to post this ;)

But yay. I finally hear some good news about AMD. For the first time in months, INQ has actually said Intel might be in trouble, albeit only because they need Nehalam.

Looks like quite a nice rig for a Christmas build, eh guys? ;)

It looks good man. Though I say if you have any more money, just go for the 8800GTX. If not then it's cool. The rig looks nice. I also say stick with a Quad, Crysis will thank you

The Ultra is an overclocked version that still consumes same amount of power, yet can stay just as "cool" as a GTX.

That's a sweet deal for the Ulta btw. Now no one can say the Ultra isn't worth it XD

I would make sure everything is connected right. Like the front power thing, (forgot the name) It can take many tries before you get it in right.

Try using another PSU to test if you have a dead PSU...
