[QUOTE="DJ_Magneto"][QUOTE="full_disclosure"][QUOTE="DJ_Magneto"] Well, you said yourself that his mom and grandmother don't know anything about gaming, so why would they know anything about afking? Half the people here don't even know about that. So if that is something that is so important to you, maybe you should be the one paying attention to those types of details. Again, I'm not trying to tell you how to raise your kid, but he's 5 and he can't be responsible for his naivete of the finer points of playing a game like this online.

Hell If I'd have known they were going to come down on afking this damn harsh I would have! I always thought that CR bans was the worst that would occur. I was unaware that they'd strip his rank and ban the whole freakin console. That's just overkill big time. I won't be buying anything Bungie again. I just will not give my money to somebody who thinks they can dictate what I already own period.

So now the whole console is banned? Banned from what? Connecting to Xbox Live? I thought originally you just had a credit ban and rank reset. But if even the punishment on rank is true, whatever afking or unintentional behavior was going on with your account must have been going on for quite a long time to even prompt that type of punishment. And I have a hard time believing that AFKing a few times in Halo will get your console completely banned. What else is going on with your console and account that you aren't telling us?

No no no....The console is CR banned for all accounts. So my sons unknowing antics have caused him to be reset and CR banned for 2 weeks and my account to be CR banned for 2 weeks because my console is CR banned for 2 weeks. It's just BS overkill.

[QUOTE="DJ_Magneto"][QUOTE="full_disclosure"][QUOTE="DJ_Magneto"] Ranks are reset for people who break the rules or are nuisances to the community. Why would they be bothered by losing THOSE players? That's the point. And a complete reset is fair game if you're going to cheat the system. They are not going to investigate the details of each user's boosting/cheating activity on a case by case basis and determine the extent of their actions when there are literally hundreds of thousands of people online every day. It's all or nothing, and people should know that. If you want to cheat, that's the risk you know you have to take. I think the way Bungie handles things is just fine. As long as you play by the rules you have nothing to worry about. And as for the TC, I'm not going to tell you how you should raise your kid, but I'll say this...He's 5. Of course he doesn't know any better. You should realize that and know that you have to take responsibility for what he does if you're going to leave him unsupervised playing Halo online.

He's never unsupervised playing! But his mom and grandmother watch him a lot. They don't know anything about afking or games period.

Im surprised that Bungie isnt too bothered by the fact that they will 'lose' a lot of players by resetting their ranks. Why not just take away the cR they earned when they were boosting? If someone played over 2000 games and they boosted in about 100 games, then to rest their ENTIRE rank is a little too much. Yeah what they did was wrong but come on...a lot of players spent DAYS playing a game they didnt have too. Maybe Bungie should rethink how they should handle with those who cheat/boost.

5 yr olds shouldn't be playing games where they kill other people.broke812
If it's immoral or mentally damaging then nobody should do it. Maybe we should make a pill that creates a completely obedient and docile society.

[QUOTE="full_disclosure"][QUOTE="Schreek"]This 5x! Your son at age 5 should barely be playing T shooters, much less rated M games in general! "But it's aliens blah blah blah." Who really cares what it is?! At age 5, when your most impressionable, I think killing anything as violently as that should not be seen or digitally acted out. You are the reason we have this huge bill in courts right now. Because you let them play at this age, but it is the video games fault when there are adverse effects.

Schreek

What a complete spew of propaganda brainwashed crap. The boy is smart and good at the game. He's well aware it's make believe! Regardless I wonder if there was violence before games, TV, radio......meh probably not! Greed, lust for power, territory r the main reasons for violence. I believe if you shelter ur child from the world the shock of learning the garbage that it really is is more damaging. It will either break them or make them fake and ignorant like well ya know! Anyway judge someone else. This ban is to harsh.

I will judge someone else when you judge something else. See how easy that argument is? You tell me not to judge the way you raise your child, I tell you not to judge the way Bungie raises its customers. And yes, I agree, children should not be sheltered, but seriously he is 5. He should be watching Sesame Street. Oh, and of course since you attacked me, I too will take the low road. Apparently he is not smart at the game, he got you banned.

" I tell you not to judge the way Bungie raises its customers" did u really just say that? That's brainwashing at it's finest lol WOW! Regarless I'm judging an action that affects me directly and I know plenty about. U r judging somebody you don't anything about and affects u none. See the difference?!

[QUOTE="full_disclosure"][QUOTE="vashkey"] No. AFKers ruin everyone else's fun. Anyone who does it fully deserve the punishment.Legendaryscmt

AFKing in FF doesn't really do anything but let the other players score higher. I haven't been banned for this because I don't do it. My son being 5 (almost six) will leave the console without backing out of matchmaking. Not with malice intent but simple because HE"S FREAKIN 5! Not to mention I had to deal with him crying today because he lost his general rank and armor! Bungie make a patch the boots players that r idle.....problem solved. Then maybe a CR ban for multiple bootings. People will stop doing it because they can't anymore! I guess that's to much effort. Better to piss off a large group and screw a few like me.

Wait, you son is friggin 5 and playing the game online? Maybe the problem isn't Bungie's way of deal with AFKs...

Maybe ur unaware of partenal crontrols and the mute options. I love judgemental people who have all the right answers lol.

Does anybody else think this is super harsh for AFKing? I'd like to add I'm not banned but my son is. So in turn my console is CR banned for 2 weeks. Bungie imo has really blown this one.
