[QUOTE="CuteCakes"] Yeah but most of the back story would go over your head and the old characters you encounter would mean nothing... which means you're really only getting half a game.R3FURBISHED

I agree the story won"t have the impact it would with the first one there. But if u could have ME2 or nothing what would u choose?

Knowing how much of an epic story I would miss? I could not imagine jumping into Mass Effect 2 not having played the first. I would NOT do it.

Not to mention that you miss an enormous amount of back story and plot when you don't import a character from ME to ME 2.

I think that"s a bit over the top. Saying u wouldn't play 2 becuase u missed 1. Who knows maybe they'll put the backstory in the codex and give u options at the beginning.

[QUOTE="R3FURBISHED"] My thoughts exactly, why would you play #2 if you haven't played the first?CuteCakes

Because me2 is a stand alone killer app first game or not!

guess microsoft pretty much own mass effect 1 as i thought seems sucky to release number 2 when your missing the whole story of ME1 and the continuation of your choices into the second one :(

this is huge, no one would have expected this. Sony should have announced this at E3 then it would have been even biggerKevinButlerVP
Actually it's not that big of a surprise. Since EA owns Bioware now. Dragon age was on both.

[QUOTE="Chutebox"][QUOTE="Heil68"]One less "console" exclusive for 360. That doesn't matter anyways, right? ;)DroidPhysX

Maybe some Ps3 owners just happy they get to play it.

Wait, so ME2 is for PS3 but not ME1?

Yea there going to need to bring a package deal somewhere to get ME in there. Bringing the character over from the first makes a pretty decent size difference in the game. I can"t imagine them not bringing all 3 to PS3 now.

Why don't they have this? They have Jade Empire but no KOTOR. What is that? Anyone hear anything?

It's pretty epic but it's hard. Sometimes cheezy hard imo. Don't know who told these developers that making games balls to the wall hard makes it fun. I guess these so called "hardcore" gamers that make up about 2% of the gaming community. Sorry, beat it last night after some seriously frustrating moments.....just venting.

i actually prefer a challenge, whats the fun in running from point a to point b without any trouble?

Don"t get me wrong I don't want a walk in the park but I don't want to feel frustrated every other minute either. The timed puzzle really irritated me too. A puzzle fine but timed puzzles with a fixed camera(which usually does a great job in the game though) was just annoying imo.

You guys who had problems handling the Mako just needed more practice. :P

Seriously, I'll admit at first it was a bit umm, unorthodox but really, after a little time I was driving, jumping, hopping around like a pro. :)

SecretPolice

Still doesn't change the fact that exploring the mountain regions was incredibly annoying! Not fun but I'm a gamer who has to get every drop out of my RPG's. So I spent alot of time annoyed. My only complaint with ME1. Love both games tremendously!

Yeah, I'm one who feels compelled to do everything in a RPG ( a great one ) and some of that was annoying but I had hoped Bioware would make ME2 with much more diverse side missions on the planets and plenty more to explore on those planets but alas, me disappointed and what I got was boring planet probing.

Lets just say that even if the planets were a bit bare, I would still prefer to ummm..

Ride Venus then probe Uranus.

What they need to do is bring the vehicle from project overlord into ME3. Fast, easy to use and fun to use! Put the exploring the planets back in there but keep the missions original.
