Do you really think that Russia and/or China are going to sit on there hands while we consolidate 2/3 of the worlds natural resources? Because Iran is the only country in all of Eurasia without US troops in it. Controlling Eurasia has been the key factor in almost all empires throughout history. Rome, alexander the great(Greece), Eygpt, Persia themselves, Genghis Khan, the British, and on and on. This is about complete global domination and nothing else. They aren't going to sit on there hands while we monopilize it. With the US military resources spread thin across the globe it would be an ideal time to strike anyway. If we attack Iran the world WILL be thrown into chaos.

Take your conspiracy garbage somewhere else, this isn't risk. Russia and/or China aren't out to get us, or control the world. China and America are so economically tied a war would sink us both into economic depression. America's love for cheap chinese goods has translated into basically assurance of peace between us for the foreseeable future as war would be complete economic suicide, and we both know it. Much like the mutually assured destruction the USSR and the US had in the Cold War. China is more focused on returns on their investments in energy in Africa anyway. The day the U.S. moves troops into Angola, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, etc. is the day China and the U.S. go to war as China has invested billions upon billions into energy production there. If we were to attack Iran the middle east would be thrown into chaos, and oil prices would rise more, but as to the WHOLE WORLD being thrown into chaos? That's simply ridiculous.
First of all where's the conspiracy you speak of? Most of the wars in the 20th century started from a lie... Gulf of Tonkin, reichstag. What about the more recent BS intel reports about Iraq. If you believe the crap you're fed on CNN (better called SIN..special interests news) you are a sheep period. Clearly they are trying to scare the pubic so they can complete their domination of Eurasia. Iran isn't a threat to us. Even if they were you cannot pre-empt a war or a crime for that matter, and claim to live in a free society! This is empire building nothing more. Read The Grand Chessboard written in 1997. It lays it out 4 years prior to the war in Afghanistan. In order for the US to maintain domination of the world. It must control Eurasia! If you think the selling of toys and nick-nacks are going to deter China from stopping themselves from being held over a barrel you're kidding yourself. The African resourses are dwarfed by those of Eurasia and china and russia know it. Russia has already made several threatening remarks regaurding our aggression towards Iran. If they let us control it they will be helpless to do anything about it later. It makes strategic sense. That's really all I'm saying! It won't just be a middleastern conflict anymore. It has major global implications. There's nothing ridiculous about it. BTW there were several times the cold war was extremely close to going hot!
