if CoD starts crapping out games every year the progression will be minimal, they took the time tweaking CoD4 into the masterpiece it is today, and that's only because they took those few years to finish the game.

you don't see other major developers release games from it's major franchise every year? if infinity ward does poop one out every year.. CoD will remain a legacy.

it's funny how nvidia fanboy gives guru3D and legitreview (lol?) and ati fanboy gives anandtech and techreport (lol?) for supporting their statements.Shegevara

how is it funny? all sites jump on the same conclusion of the level of the videocard.

And, if he wanted to CF two 4850's, he couldn't use that board. Nvidia chipsets cannot utilize CF technology, only SLI.

oops, missed that one out. :-(

anyway, i'm sure the performance of a hd470 card (oced version, or hd4870 toxic) will outperform the 8800GTS in SLI, and it's cheaper too.

i'm skeptical about quad cores, especially the q6600, since it's an older model of quad cores. but since you're overclocking it'll turn out good, i hope. bear in mind that E8400 processors will perform better in most games in this period of time.

you might want to switch to hd4850 cards, they're better (so far specs go) and they're cheaper, with the money you save you could probably get a q9450 processor, or something along those lines. or you can just run the cards in CF (that is, if your MOBO has more than two PCI-E 16x video slots).

are you sure the motherboard has socket 775 for the processor? i can't verify it on the newegg website.

hd4850 pro's -

price.

performance to price ratio.

can hold up against higher-end videocards.

beastly in CF.

able to play most games on max with reliable frame rate (excluding crysis, which is a pretty CPU and GPU intensive game).

hd4850 con's -

heat issues with some of the cards (sapphire and jetway seems to top at 90 degrees celcius, 50 on idle).

catalyst will be damned to include an up-to-date driver for management of the fan speed and other trivial tasks.

ati hd4850 cards are good, i've been using a 7300gt before getting the hd4850 card (which is a huge jump, imagine PS1 to PS3) and the results are amazing.

his SA-TA port is probably blocked because he either got a big HD4850 card (i've heard the sapphire HD4850 is pretty big in comparison with other cards) or a small case. your experience with the product varies from other people.

i think it's safe to say that the OP has no damned idea what he's talking about. so let's not go into technical mumbo-jumbo to explain him why he doesn't need a big computer just to play WoW.
