I'm quite impressed by this game, and want to buy it. But a broken save system is amongst the top reasons for me to avoid a game. I've heard people say that this game's ave syetms is too unforgiving, and its only used to amp up the difficulty. I just hate it when I have to lose half an hour's progress due to lack of save points.

Considering this, should I buy it now, or wait for a sale (because I will definitely buy it at some point)? Also, is the save system really as bad as the people and reviewers say?

So Microsoft just announced that Windows 10 would come with DirectX 12 (http://www.winbeta.org/news/microsoft-talks-about-their-plans-release-directx-12-windows-10).

So to take advantage of Direct X 12, do we require a new GPU (as has been the case with previous versions), or will the current DirectX 11 GPUs support DirectX 12 as well? I know that it can work in software emulated mode, but I'm asking about the hardware aspect.

If you're GPU says it supports DX11.2 you're good to go.

EDIT: "NVIDIA will support the DX12 API on all the DX11-class GPUs it has shipped". Source: http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2014/03/20/directx-12/

That's great! I currently have an AMD Radeon R9 280X, so I'm good to go!

well there's a helicopter sound at the end of the credits...

Any idea what that helicopter sound could mean? I didn't have the patience to sit through the credits, so I missed that scene.

Part of me is wondering if any sequels will feature Anya Oliwa as the protaganist on the basis that she grows from a simple nurse to quite the capable resistance fighter, Not to mention her affection towards Blazkowitcz could be an additional reason to seek revenge against the Nazi's.

But we'll see.

That's a possibility, although highly unlikely. A Wolfenstein game without Blazkowicz doesn't feel like a Wolfenstein game. A better option would be to make a spin-off kind of game with Anya Oliwa as the protagonist.

They Plan on making a Sequel and beside's You Did'nt get to Blow up Hitler they should make him the Final .

I don't think they'd be able to do that, because killing the person you mentioned would mean the game probably won't be classified for release by the certification boards of a lot of countries. It could give rise to unnecessary controversies. Or maybe they can just change his name to something similar.

I hope not... I'd love to play another one. One of my fav games of the last couple of years.

Yeah, this game was an unexpected gem. I didn't have too much of an expectation from it, and I bought it mainly for the Doom Beta. Turns out I got more than my money's worth. I completed it on medium difficulty, and will start a second playthrough soon on the hardest difficulty.

For those of us who have played and beaten this absolute gem (I completed it just minutes ago), so you suppose it would be the last ever Wolfenstein game? I remember reading a couple of articles last year, stating that Machine Games would want to give a perfect 'send-off' for the series (Sorry, I don't remember the source). After seeing the ending of this game, it pretty much seems that this beloved franchise is history because it wouldn't make sense to develop a Wlfenstein game without Blazkowicz. Or maybe they would only make a prequel or something.

Your thoughts?

Yeah I was talking GPU wise, the CPU could last up to even 10 years from now in terms of gaming, if it's not going to die for some reason.

You may add another 280 if your MOBO allows.

My current mobo is an entry level one. If I ever decide to go for a crossfire setup in the future, I'll change the mobo.

If you didn't buy that PSU yet you could afford to tone it down a bit and save some extra cash. Really you don't need more than 600w if you don't plan on using two cards.

I have already bought all the components. The CPU is a real power hog (or so I heard) at 125 watts TDP, and the specifications for the video card mentioned the power supply requirement as '750 Watts'. Hence I went for an 800 Watts PSU. I knew it might be overkill, but at least I don't have to change the PSU if I ever decide to go for a Crossfire setup at some point in the future.

I had to replace several parts of my gaming PC because my naughty 3 year old nephew poured water into my cabinet. I was strapped for cash, so I went for an all-AMD setup instead of Intel-NVidia (which would have been way above my budget). I settled for the following:-

AMD FX8320 3.5 GHZ 8 core processor (along with an aftermarket cooler)

AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB graphics

8GB DDR 3 RAM

800 Watts Corsair Power Supply

Right now, I'm able to obtain 50+ fps on almost all games on the highest settings at 1080p. I don't plan on gaming at resolutions higher than 1080p in the foreseeable future, and also wouldn't be going for Eye-Infinity or any such features. I'm satisfied with anything abound 40 fps, and I don't mind turning of anti-aliasing (because that feature is a real resource hog, and usually not worth the performance hit).

Considering the above, how long would I be able to persist with this system, before it is eventually time to upgrade? I would probably overclock my hardware to squeeze out some more time from them, when the games can no longer keep up at stock frequencies. Please give me a rough estimate, because I'm not too knowledgeable about hardware aspects. Thank you.

You can grab R9 280 instead of the X version and OC it yourself.

You'll game for the next 2-3 years of max/high settings.

Thanks for your response! I have already bought the R9 280X, though. 2 to 3 years should be good enough for me. I'm pretty sure the processor would last much longer. I may only need to change the GPU and perhaps add more RAM after 3 years or so.
