I have that as well... It's weird though. When I run the benchmark... It plays the game and doesn't run a preset loop.
[QUOTE="gabs556"]It is probably your cpu being different unless you are way below their benches. You have to remember review sites systems' right now are using i7 9xx cpu's.I just got the MSi GTX460 1GB Cyclone OC... My CPU is an e7500 @ 3.52Ghz... I'm not quite getting the performance I was expecting. I'm really worried that my GPU is defective or that It's significantly bottlenecked.
I can't seem to match the benchmarks found online for the 460 on games like RE 5, Dirt 2, Crysis, Unigine Heaven Benchmark etc...

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing actually... I'm experiencing significantly lower results. But it's not like it's below playable levels. Just concerned cuz I can't really be sure if it's just a bottleneck or if I got a defective card (I hope not).
Same here... It just keeps starting the game.. Not really running a benchmark loop.
I'm also experiencing a similar problem with my MSi GTX460 1GD5/OC (OC'd 15% including factory OC) on my E7500. But my CPU is overclocked to 3.52Ghz and still experiencing significant bottlenecks.

Yup, you will see an improvement. Is your processor OC'd? If not, then you should do so till you can afford a new processor, motherboard and RAM as it will help your card perform in newer more CPU hungry games.
I just bought a GTX460 myself... The MSi 1GB Cyclone OC version to be exact... It replaced my 9800GT. I see a significant improvement in most games... In some, just a little. I think my CPU is bottlenecking it in certain games. My processor is an e7500 @ 3.52Ghz by the way. Waiting for the newer intel processors (Sandy bridge) before I upgrade which will come out Q1 next year.
Depending in which 460 you got, you should OC it as well if you're comfy with doing that.

The only games that a 3.5ghz Core 2 Duo would bottleneck a GTX 460 in are those that really like triple and quad core CPUs. As far as clock speed and architectural efficiency goes, your CPU is still great.
Well probably... If Dirt 2 and RE 5 are more CPU dependent than most games... Then I guess you're right. Cuz I can't seem to match the GTX460 benchmarks that are all over the net (they were using i7) for those 2 games.
